"Daughters Of The Most High" should roll a doobie and follow in their parents' footsteps.
Cause you'd need to be stoned to take the Bible seriously...
Seriously though, a women's group centered on the Bible? Do you know how sexist and oppressing it is to women? Or do you just ignore all those examples, and all the dogma in place, that makes religion a boy's club?
Or do you just listen to what your pastor tells you, and read what he tells you, and follow how all the men in your religion define your life and how you should live?
Don't believe me? Grab your Bible and defend these quotes (all from the New Testament, too, as the Old Testament has much more but you'd just hand-wave it away saying the New Testament is the new way):
1 Corinthians 11: "But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head--it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. (For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.) That is why a woman ought to have a veil on her head, because of the angels."
1 Timothy 2: "Also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion. Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent."
Matthew 25:1: "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom."
Ephesians 5:22-24: "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything."
1 Peter 3:7: "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers."
And ask yourself:
Are any of Jesus' disciples women? No.
Are any of the elders in the book of Revelation women? No.
Are any of the books of the Bible written by women? No.
Are any of the pastors, priests, or popes women? No.
There's really no denying the status women are supposed to have in society, under Biblical rule.
So why do you choose to accept that, and promote it?
Oh I see, you're going to ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist. Ah, sweet cognitive dissonance.

Ruth would also be a good one to do. The loyalty she had for Naomi even though she could have abandoned her and went back to her own land with the other widows.
It is also a great illustration of Christ. If you look at Boaz who is the kinsman redeemer and how the relationship builds between them. The redemption of Naomi back into the family through Boaz and because of the faithfullness of Ruth, not to mention her obedience. The fact that Naomi as the mother in law but also the older woman was looking out for her daughter in law and the younger woman.
I think it would be great for all the woman. It gives great perspectives from both women who are very different age wise.

If you think about it any female Christian is a Daughter of the Most High. So I don't think you need to limit yourself to "daughters" in the Bible. Look at Ruth, Esther, Hannah, Elizabeth, the sisters Martha and Mary. Also there are 5 women mentioned in the geneology of Jesus in Matthew. Normally geneologies follow the male line so these women were significant. So you should check out Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary. God bless! :-)

Good for you!!! I lead a Bible Study for women aged 25-45 and know exactly what you are facing. Remember that Jesus loved women and used them in ministry. With younger women truly make the Bible come alive in their own lives---make it applicable to what they are facing. If you are wanting to do lineage/daughters, tracing Mary's lineage in women is an interesting study and there are great resources on this. If you need/want more detailed help, scipture, or ideas. feel free to contact me personally via email at missied@sc.rr.com---I am a Pastor's wife in my 30's and have led these studies for 6 years now to great fun and success. Best of luck to you and remember it is ok to not have all the answers! Be real and be open.

First of all "Micheal" must be gender confused as you had asked for insight from WOMEN who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
So his lame-o smart pants response just shows his immaturity.
I think you are doing a wonderful thing having this group for the younger woman of your church and the name "Daughters of The Most High".... awesome!!!
There are other woman in the bible to study, like Ruth, Abagail, Mary, Martha, I will try to get a list for you.
Im sure your study group will be blessed with new knowledge and fellowship. Always pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you!

Women—Second-Class People? ***
Does the Bible teach that women are of inferior nature, as compared with men?
No. Adam called Eve “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.” (Genesis 2:23) Eve was Adam’s “complement.”—Genesis 2:18.
Women referred to in the Bible did many things requiring intellectual capacity. Huldah served as a prophetess to King Josiah. (2 Chronicles 34:22) Deborah both prophesied and judged for the Israelites. (Judges 4:4, 5) Abigail counseled David, when he was king-designate, and saved him from bloodguilt. (1 Samuel 25:23-35) A “capable wife” is described as being skilled in purchasing. She organizes and controls a large household, budgets and plans for the future, engages in trade, buys property and organizes successful farming ventures. She possesses the quality of wisdom.—Proverbs 31:10-31.
Also, women were to receive holy spirit and prophesy in the last days. (Joel 2:28) They were among the first members of the Christian congregation, and were to play a prominent part in the telling of the “good news.”—Acts 1:14; 2:4; Psalm 68:11.

Thats awesome you are able to have fellowship like this with other women. You might want to try reading Twelve Extraordinary Women By John MaCarthur. The book gives twelve examples of how God used these women(His Daughters). It is a really good book.

Yes, women in the gospel absolutely need one another, and I think it's great that you are having this gathering!
I love Proverbs 31 about a virtuous woman, I don't think it mentions the word "daughter," but it's really good about womanhood in general.
Also maybe try expanding your search to "Children of God" and see what that turns up for your.
best wishes

That sounds good and I applaud you for following what the Lord has laid upon your heart. Spend time alone with God in prayer, with songs, thanksgiving and fasting and seek Him for knowledge in what you are to share with the women or the Daughters of The Most High...have others pray for this get together.

I think if you would let go of the worry, you could get a great answer from God himself. He knows what needs to be taught that day.
Always remember if you are teaching the word always teach what you are guided too. Because this might be him using you as a messenger for just one of the people who attend, but they needed it the most.
My favorite saying: LET GO and LET GOD
Have fun and God Bless
