It totally depends on what kind of shape you are in and what you are training for. If you are a beginning runner, don't overdue it, as that will cause stress on your body that it just isn't use to. You need to build your base by going on shorter (2-4 mile) runs 3 days a week and then a longer run (5-6) maybe one day a week. Maybe every three weeks add about 5 miles to your total weekly mileage. Also, make sure to stretch and if your body is feeling too fatigued, take some time off.
If you are more serious and are training for a longer event like the marathon, then you should probably be running 4-6 days a week taking a day off after your long run.

Its best to run every other day, to give your body the rest it needs the day u are not running.
U will burn yourself out runnin everyday. So, run either every
other day or twice a week.
Running isnt that great for u these days, other activities like yoga,weight lifting benefits the body better.

Running is terrible for the joints. Why not try power walking instead? I like to do 3 days low impact aerobics, 3 days weight training (alternate upper and lower body) a week.

Run, run, and then run some more. A day off is do not run so fast or not to far but running is good.
