That works for me; If God is going to create an entire universe that will take a while and a great deal of effort. If he was sensible (and being omniscient I'm assuming he is) Why not just create a set of chemical and biological blueprints a fearsome amount of energy and voila, boil in the bag universe. For a modern God who's always on the move

I have a theory that answers this question, but unfortunately it's has a very long and involved explanation. But i think the theory is sound, after all I have spent the last 12 years researching that exact question, and I talked with a lot of priests and scientists about it. I think my theory answer it, because it explains why the bible says what it does about the beginning, and it explains the mysteries of the beginning of life that scientists have yet to find and answer for.
The most simple explanation for my theory is this: the bible is more like a library then just a book, in fact if u open it the table of contents u'll see that is indeed literally made up of several books. and like a library it has both fact and fiction within it. Some stories are re-accounting events that actually happen and some are fables meant to teach some kind of lesson. The story of creation is probably a fable, or rather the simplest version of how God created life. I have more to add to this but, it would take me a least a day and a half to write it all out, and then no one would read the answer any way because it would be so long.

Facts.
The Bible, not specifically, but all religions in general, stemmed from the early humans lack of knowledge, and fear of natural, but not understood, things like thunder, fire, hurricanes, etc. The attributed these things to various omnipotent beings, like the sun and moon. Sacrifices were offered in hopes to reduce the "anger" of the gods. As a few became more well educated, they surmised there was, of should be, really only one Supreme Being, and by instilling a fear of consequence into people they would be able to rule over them. So a few thousand years ago, the "One God" concept sprung up, notably in a few different places and cultures almost simultaneously, as the species man evolved. Someone put a collection of the stories together and named it. Certain aspects of this theory were influenced by other-worldly beings (you don't think the Egyptians really built the Pyramids, do you?) to seem more ominous. Once you get them to believe, the control of the masses becomes easier.
Bottom line: religion was an early, easy form of government.

If the bible is allegorical then I think that both can co-exist. It's when people take the bible as literal Truth (with a capital t) that people have problems. The bible says that the world is only a couple thousand years old, which flies in the face of mountains of scientific evidence to the contrary.

For those that believe evolution clashes with the Bible, it stems from the belief that the story of creation happened exactly how it was written. They believe it to be the literal way it happened with no room for any ideas to have happened or to have occurred. Evolution would then be a lie because that would mean that creation didn't happen in 7 days but over the course of many many years.
Another thought is that they believe that evolution means God's creation was not perfect. But to me that is not correct - evolution is just the way God planned things to be and is the creator's design. We have no way of knowing exactly what the creator planned.

the mandatory conflict is about complexity. some adherents to introduction deny the entire entire mind-set of evolution, even with the undeniable fact that the fad has been to flow in the direction of further evolution properly matched perspectives, the retooling you requested after ;) identity truly claims some issues were placed there as they're through god... because they're too complicated to easily evolve, it is often analyze through analytical approaches designed to seek order in chaos. a minimum of this is my understanding. Evolution claims that all and dissimilar is the right results of evolution. So the distinction is Evolution: each little thing developed through a similar regulations identity: each little thing developed through a similar regulations, except the bits god further there. Scientists have an situation with both algorithm for one phenomena, this is fairly a lot opposite to generic clinical questioning ----------------------- Btw, themessage, tremendous seize :) i did not observe formerly you observed that each unmarried sentence became incorrect... cool.

I´m answering Megami
It was the scientists of the very recent classical period whom said the earth was flat.
TheBible was the first book to say that the earth is round. Also 3000 years ago Job wrote; see Job 26: 7
He it is Who spreads out the northern skies over emptiness and [a]hangs the earth upon or over nothing.
Megami, you are wrong in your asumptions
Megami of Nekro
Level 5
The Bible also said the earth is flat. u_u()
God took credit for making everything immediately.
That's why it won't work.

There is no clash between the two. The Bible speaks of faith on how man was created from the spirit of God which was created in his own image meaning His Righteousness and the spirit took on matter as his vehicle for life. Evolutions of matter and spirit took form from physical to mental process, from innocence to maturity, from ignorance to knowledge, from knowledge to wisdom then from wisdom to understanding.
The clash is between people who cannot see the connection which is vital for the unity of two opposing beliefs.
Without the spirit of God, the man is just an evolve matter existing in similar fashion as the animals who survive and develop through instincts. With the Spirit of God, the man becomes human who evolves with higher capability to be a part of the continuining preservation of life on earth. No other creature on earth has been given the responsibility to take care of the planet and sadly the capacity to destroy it through his own frailties.

Evolution clashes with truth. even without the Bible- there is no conclusive evidence that evolution took place- the dating techniques and many other 'findings' are continually being proven fallible and in error.
Evolution has no firm foundation, the Word of God is founded in truth.

The Genesis account is not allegorical.
Its factual.
Have a look at these quotes:
“The Bible story of Adam and Eve, father and mother of the whole human race, told centuries ago the same truth that science has shown today: that all the peoples of the earth are a single family and have a common origin.”
The Races of Mankind (New York, 1978), Ruth Benedict and Gene Weltfish, p. 3.
“All of us, if we went back far enough, hundreds of generations, would arrive at the same place . . . the evidence of science is that present men derive from a common stock.”
Publication by the Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization of the United Nations.
“Science now corroborates what most great religions have long been preaching:
Human beings of all races are . . . descended from the same first man.”
Heredity in Humans (Philadelphia and New York, 1972), Amram Scheinfeld, p. 238.
“The story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis has been vindicated, in part at least, by science. Its main point is now generally accepted as true: namely, that there is only one human family . . . with a common origin.”
