Well, according to my doctor, the ideal time for a boy of his age to go to bed is 9:00 to 9:30. I am a 14-year old and I used to stay up to 10:30 on school nights. The next day I would be grumpy and have a hard time waking up. I tried going to bed at 9:30. The next day I had no problem waking up and I was in a good mood. The doctor said that teenagers need at least 9 hours of sleep on a school night. Your boyfriend's son is not doing himself any good by going to bed at that time. He could suffer gradewise in school if he keeps up satying up that late. I hope this helps!

Asleep by 10:00 is a good idea, especially since most middle schools start so early in the morning. However, watching TV until 11:00 is a huge no-no. There is way too much on TV after 9:30 or 10:00 that is inappropriate for teens. Example: Ever seen the show Nip/Tuck?

I'd say 9 or 10. When you reach a certain age where you're starting to grow up and whatnot, kids want to go to bed later and sleep in later. It's normal. But they also need at least 8-9 hours of sleep, so I'd say 9 or 10, depending on what time his school starts.
I'm 12, I just go to bed at whatever time I get tired, which varies from 7 to midnight.
Or, another thing to try is to let him just go to bed whenever he wants, because soon enough he'll be getting more and more tired and he won't get good grades.....it'll teach him to be responsible for his actions. I mean, when I go to school feeling like I could drop dead in the hall, I know that I need to get to bed earlier.

Talk to your boyfriend considerably tell him that you have a concern about how late his son stays up and then he should listen to you or you can reason something out!
~I think that he should be in bed by 9:00 and watch T.V. till 9:30

My son is 15- almost 16 in October and he goes to bed at 10:30 and NO watching tv or anything! 10:30 is it! Last year was 10. Only if he keeps his grades up. Kids need routine and down time even teenagers- especially teenagers! Stand your ground! 10 or 10:30 is a perfect time!

In t he begining have him go to bed at 9:00 and let them watch tv in the room until 10:00. Or he could stay up until 10:30 but go right to bed with no TV.

11:00 is fine to stay up if he wants, but that's not a time for them to be watching TV. Mostly adult shows come on after 10. So if they want to do tv for an hour after bed, then he should do 9 in bed and tv till 10. or, do whatever till 11, except tv

My daughter has an 8:30 bedtime now and I think I'll keep that for school. If I see that she can handle getting up early without being nasty to everyone in the house I'll consider extending bedtime to 9:00 or 9:30.
