I have a vintage 2 seater volvo. and i do not want to do any major modifications. The rear seat folds down so I figure I could temporarily set a tiny airconditioning unit in the back during the hot cali summer months. It would preferably not be much taller than 1 ft.. longer than 2 ft. nor wider than a ft.
It should hopefully be able to contain any condensation moisture so it doesn't spill... or perhaps i can rig a disposal tube leading outside.
It doesn't have to be very powerful at all since the cabin is so small.
I will have to figure out how to rig the electricals later.

Smallest Ac Unit

Window units do not specifically pull air from outside and cool it. They recirculate the air inside the room just like a central unit, albeit not as efficiently. They will pull in a small amount of fresh air which can be desirable and this can often be adjusted. Window units usually also have a lower efficiency rating (SEER) than central AC. As for cutting a hole in a wall? Go for it. Mine is mounted in the wall, but it's not something you can always justify structurally or practically. I don't know of too many folks who have cut a whole in a wall lately. Most older apartments were built before central or window AC were common. Otherwise they probably would have made a hole for a unit when they were constructing the building.

There are a lot of portable air conditioners out there, but wouldn't it just be easier to get REAL air conditioning installed in your car??

There's one by frigidaire for 100 usd.

Go to the following site to know what you must know before buying air conditioners:

tinyurl@com/airconknowledge (Replace @com with .com)

HAHAHAHA. That's pretty funny. You're like this guy I used to know who cut the roof of his Bonneville one day because he decided he wanted a convertable.
