I mean... that'd be a true sacrifice God made... he would have given something he'd never ever see again. As it is, Jesus came right back to him.

Yup, he's obviously a hypocrite. First he dies, then he takes it back. That's a down right lie... isn't that one of these "sins" that all the churchies talk about?

Like Mike Holmes always says: "Do it right - the first time".

There are some dynamics that you are missing.
1. Jesus had never known a time of separation from His Father, so the sacrifice was every bit as difficult for Him as it would be for us. When He took on the sin of the world, His Father couldn't look upon Him with the Favor He'd shown Him throughout eternity. If your son were sent to suffer for others' sake, would you suffer for Him? Especially if you had to reject him during that suffering?

2. I am glad that He got up from being dead. This is proof that He wasn't just some nut claiming to be the Christ.

3. If He got up from the dead, then the promise He made to us will be fulfilled. We too, will get up from the dead.

No, then we would have a dead god like Islam and Buddhist.

Christianity is the only religion that has a LIVING GOD.
The real sacrifice was on Jesus's part. He left the comfort of heaven to become a man, to suffer and die. When he died he felt the pain of ALL our sins at once. He also could have given into Satan and had the world without suffering on the cross first.

No, a living God is much better than a dead one!

Why do so many people get hung up on, "Jesus died for your sins". If it were that simple, maybe you would have a point, but of course it isn't that simple. Jesus didn't just die for us, he lived for us as a human being subject to the same temptations as we are, but without giving in, so temptation alone was a constant suffering for Jesus. He experienced childhood, teenage years and all the problems those two times can bring. He suffered the loss of the only earthly father he knew. He suffered the doubt of family and friends. He suffered the betrayal and denial of those closest to him. He suffered some of the most brutal torture and ridicule you could imagine while knowing his mother was witnessing all this..... and then he died.

Not everyone believe he came back from the dead. All of what was said about him was reported by his apostles who ran away and hid for days. Even Mary Magdalene took long before she recognized the said ressurected body which is quite surprising for someone who have been with him for a long time and suddenly would not recognize him just after three days. The words and the voice could have been practiced by an impostor for him to be called "Rabboni" by Mary.
Another doubful thing is Jesus' ascenscion which the apostles emphatically claimed they are the only ones who "DESERVED" to see it happened. Aside from the fact that it took them 65 years for the written records to be reported. The ressurection itself was reported by four apostles and each one of them does not agree to which way he was found missing in the tomb and then came alive.

If He'd stayed dead, His sacrifice would've only been good to those who were alive duyring that day and age. He had to come back to life to fulfill the prophecies concerning His life, death, burial and resurrection to confirm in future generations that He was God manifested in the flesh and still have the power and authority to save men's souls if they'd let Him.

i do no longer think of human beings quite recognize how Jesus's sacrifice worked. He did no longer die for His ideals. that's what a martyr does. His existence paid the debt of sin that guy owed God. God commanded, "The wages of sin is dying; however the present of God is eternal existence." If we human beings sin, we die constantly. No heaven. All hell. No eternal existence. basically dying constantly. Sinning potential to interrupt God's commandments. You ruin one, you will possibly besides ruin all of them. interior the classic days of the Israelites, in the event that they sinned, they might sacrifice animals as atonement, style of like paying back a debt. yet humankind racked up plenty religious debt, there is no longer sufficient animal sacrifice int he international to pay off God. So we've been on everlasting dying row. yet that would harm the plans the God and Christ have in keep for humankind : to alter into God! it truly is the place Christ's merciful sacrifice comes into play. think of of it this way: in case you owe human beings funds to the Mafia (do no longer equate God with the Mafia. i'm basically utilising it as an occasion), and you do not have the money to pay them back, then you definately extra effective be waiting for cement footwear. yet while an harmless individual, your brother, did no longer pick to work out you harm and did no longer have the money yet gave something else, his existence for yours, then you definately stay. yet God is clever. interior the Christ's case, no longer basically did He pay for guy's debt, He additionally qualified to rule as king over the Earth. He grew to become into resurrected. wager what take place while our religious debt gets cleared, as quickly as we die, we get resurrected, too. it truly is why the Lord can't stay ineffective. as long as he's alive, we are alive. If He sinned, then His sacrifice could have been in ineffective and all humankind might die constantly. yet this sacrifice occurs basically one time. God's no longer doing this two times. between living constantly and dying constantly, i'm going to take eternal existence any day.

Jesus endured great pain and suffering at the hands of His crucifiers - that was sacrifice. He gave up His life (His earthly life) on the cross so that we may have eternal life with Him. We certainly couldn't enjoy eternal life with Him if He were dead. No one stays dead. We will all rise and be judged.

The resurrection of Jesus is beyond the sacrifice. The sacrifice was to have Jesus live, teach, and then die. The resurrection was the miracle giving proof that Jesus was and is in fact the Father's Son.

Jesus got taken out for being the first cult leader ever, his belief pissed off the rich and famous so they nailed him on his own belief for his followers to see. then one of his followers took over and told all his believers of Jesus' return from the dead and the premonition (he accidentally at some opium) he saw of Jesus. more great stories went on from there. and more will carry on thru yahoo Q&A. enjoy.

Jesus's whole life was an example, a pattern for us to follow if we choose it. If He stayed dead, then we would also. What would be the point of His having lived if that were the case?
