It is a choice, just like anything else in life. There is no magical word to say or spell one can use to change the thoughts and beliefs of another. If such a thing existed then nobody would hate government...nor have money for that matter. They accept they're choice, it is not your place to change anothers belief, no matter what the belief may be. If it involves animal or human sarcifice then ok, get some help otherwise just let them be.

Proof. I would want you to say, "If God is real, then this test will have this result." You would have to do that test and show that that result happens reliably. You would then have to say, "In the absence of God, it will have a different result, this." You would then have to remove god and run the test again and show that different result happens reliably.

Then you would have to publish your results with specific instructions so that anyone on the planet with the necessary equipment could run the experiment for themselves. They would also need to report and publish their results.

Can you do this for me?

Jesus provided proof to Thomas, in exactly the way Thomas required of him. He didn't say Thomas was cursed for needing proof, he just said that those who didn't were Blessed. I believe his words were, "Place your fingers in my hands and my feet, place your hand in my side. you believe because you have seen, but blessed are those who believe and have not seen." See anything about cursing him? See anything about, "Well, because you're special I'm gonna give you proof no one else gets"? Jesus promises proof in John 14:14 that anything asked in his name (read the entire chapter, he makes no exception, no requirement that it be a holy request or that it be keeping with gods will or that it not be a test) would be granted so his father would be glorified.

So. Bring out the proof... and I'll believe. Until then... it's all hogwash.

it would require an assessment of the social cues/ideas which a so-called "atheist" has determined are of less value than a God-believer. the term atheist (like many other identities!) is a term which tends to limit the total person/being of an individual...and the identity/term simply/merely serves as a definition of one whom does not ''believe'' in the ideas as they are presented by the social environment(ideas/actions/behaviours) which the non-believer/atheist has been exposed to. so.....the term ''atheist'' is somewhat like a waiting room for the people of the big Creative Picture whom actively/passively wait for ideas/actions/behaviours which are more compatible for the individual. to answer your question ....... it takes an atheist the realization and agreement within the very persons mind(ideas)/soul(feelings)/body for the new belief in OneCreator or God. this occurs most genuinely if it is not enforced such as using fear tactics or cunning to assist in an atheists' realization.

From a former atheist. A life changing experience, usually a bad one, a near death, or loss of everything that he or she has made an idol in their life, such as a mate, a job, a drug. When those idols do not satisfy or when they lose something dear to them and nothing can fill that void except for God. Sometimes it is an answered prayer, a visitation from God, a miracle. God knows and all we have to be is have a sincere and open mind to receive the truth.

It takes the same thing that would make a religious person not believe in god. I am an Atheist and I don't believe there is much of anything that could change my mind.

A miracle!

I don't just mean that as a snide answer. It takes a miracle for anyone to believe in God. It's a leap of faith that we all need to take at some point.

They believe there's a God...
even demons believe God exists (Matthew 8:28 When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.
29"What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?")

It's hard to live in this world and never wonder who made it ?.... what am I here for? etc...

To believe in god an atheist must be prevented from thinking critically. One must Keep them from learning about the world, especially science. Encourage them to fear their own mortality and hate those who are different from them. Make them believe they are so worthless and immoral that they deserve to be tortured for all eternity and that only the fear of Jesus will save them. If you do all these you have an excellent chance of leading them to Christianity.
