if a person is prone to allergies, then there is a great possibility that he'd get allergies from pets, especially from pet hair, and other skin diseases.

sometimes though, people who are allergic to a certain animal (like dogs) can tolerate their pets after sometime. they maybe still allergic to other dogs but are not allergic to their own dog. this can also with cats and other animals.

if you have a minor allergy to a certain animal, you might try being with the pet and see if you can tolerate him... most of minor allergies with pets disappear with time as described above.

of course, if you have a major allergy to a certain animal, this may not be a good idea.

Absolutely they can affect your allergies. All the pet dander and mites that the pet fur can carry. Same goes true for stuffed animals, carpets and drapes

For sure, cat hair is the main allergy, it can choke u up bad
and cause chest congestion.
Dog hair , if not clean can also affect u.
Pets and Carpet is the number 1 allergy trigger besides
nature pollen.

Many alergies are from animals, especially dogs and cats, but some people can be alergic to horses or birds, etc.

For me Cats are the bane of my existance... I can't be in the same room for 10 minues or I have an asthma attack

Yes. But it is not their fur, as most people commonly believe. It is dander, mold and dust mites and pollens that contribute most to environmental allergies.

Yes it can, because some people are allergic to feathers - bird. Most people are allergic to cats, dogs because of their fur.
