What are your thoughts on us Wiccans. I have seen many people say we worship the devil. Do you agree with this theory, or do you have another accusation?

i'm Christian. I know some wiccans, and they are people who I love and enjoy spending time with like anyone else. we view wiccans as ppl who dabble in the occult. as for worshipping the devil, i don't think that wiccans feel they are. Christianity views, however, that if you aren't worshipping the living God.. satan then benefits. but that doesn't make me love the actual person of wiccans any less, because they are just ppl with souls like me.

so you see, i am keeping my faith, but i'm not going to hate you because of yours. everyone is on their own personal journey and no one can make up our minds but ourselves.

Well, I was raised in the Christian religion. However no, I do not believe that you guys worship the devil or anything else evil for that matter. I've studied some about Wicca and other religions. And to me it sounds like a very peaceful religion. The only reason why many Christians may view your religion as Satanic is because since the dawn of Christianity the church has labled anything pagan or non Christian as Satanic or evil. Anyone who has educated themselves any at all on the matter knows this is not true. All I can say is if this is the religion that you're happy with and feel a connection to then you have every right to be a part of it.

Well see alot of religions such as wiccans another one being satanism that i know of dont worship the devil. Christians alot of the time usually pair the devil with any kinds of temptations and desires. Just like some places example is the bible belt where they think that even things like AD&D, Magic the gathering, etc I have heard to be works of the devil which if u know anything about any of those then you would know they are not. Just as said before by another person people judge what they dont understand and sometimes get a odd image of what certain things are from people like pastors and other members of their church's about what a certain thing is. Honestly though one thing to remember is that just like christians fought for their right to believe what they wanted to believe you have that same right and if anyone puts you down for that belief then they themselves should be damned for passing judgement where it they shouldnt be passing judgement. :) - Proud Agnostic XD

I think Wiccans in general are basically nature worshipers. At least, this is what I've seen from the various websites I've seen explaining Wicca and the few Wiccans I've bumped into at various Renaissance/Celtic Festivals I've attended. However, some have way too much interest in the spiritual world, such as calling up various "spirits" to help them with things.

hmm I think that your beliefs are wrong, but that goes without stating as I am sure you believe mine are. So know that I am not going to try and convert you. I have seen very few wiccans worshiping THE devil. many worship different things, which many christians see as manifestations of deamons, but no I dont think you worship the devil.

I have been sitting here trying to come up with a thoughtful and intelligent response to your question, but I am having trouble. I think it is partly the accusatory tone of your question. You are assuming that all Christians are misinformed about and hostile toward Wicca, when that is clearly not the case. Yes, a great many are and I know that historically, worshipers of earth based religions have suffered terribly at the hands of Christians. Yet I find myself unable to post what I think is a convincing rebuttal to your accusations, and that makes me very sad, because I feel that maybe if I could, some of your hostility toward another of the world's great religions might diminish a little and the gulf between your faith and mine might just narrow a bit.

Even back when I was catholic, I didn't think anything bad of wiccans. Honestly, I probably didn't know they existed, but I'm SURE that if I had known, I would have thought they were cool.

Now that my blinders are off, I still think "cool!" It's not the religion for me, although If that proverbial gun were to my head and I had to pick one, I'd choose that over many others.

And since I'm edumacated, I KNOW you don't worship satan. For that matter, I was interested to learn that even satanists don't worship satan. Sure there are probably kids looking for a thrill, and a few wackos, but apparently that's not what that religion is about either....

I'm Catholic and my daughter chose to be Wiccan. She has her beliefs and I have mine. I do know the most important thing is that Wiccan's don't try to cram their beliefs down every-ones throat, like most religions. She is the most generous and spiritual person I know. And I would love her no matter what she chose to believe. And she does not worship the devil.

Actually, your question reads like an accusation...

I didn't think Wiccans worshipped the Devil, but I know that their views on spiritual matters differ significantly from my own Christian views. That, and every single Wiccan I have met has been overtly hostile towards my faith. But maybe I just met a lot of atypical jerks.

I heard they are more like Pagans who worship more than one thing. I don't think they worship the devil. In the Christian belief though, if you don't go through Christ, you can't get to heaven. It's the Christian belief, doesn't mean we hate you.
I have Wiccan friends. As long as if my friends don't hate me because of my faith, I won't hassle them either. I'll joke with them but some things are off limits. I'll ask them about what they believe and they can ask me what I believe... much like what you're doing now.
It is not our place to judge.

I know they don't worship the devil, they worship a female goddess. We had a very large of group them meet at a University near my home this past summer.

You asked so I'm giving my views. I've noticed if you google or yahoo wiccan you see these very beautiful women...very sexy, very seductive etc...but it's always in cartoon form..they never show the REAL wiccan chick. So went to have a look at the wiccan woman for my self..there were like 300 of em...well let's just say I know why they use CARTOONS..Good Gad!!!!!!!!!
