Mine is Dealtos at Fountain Park, which has a Mediterreanean vibe to it.

I love 'Red Marakesh' which is either in Clerk Street or Nicolson Street. The food is fabulous and the owners are delightfully friendly. The last time I was there they remembered me even though it had been virtually a year since my previous visit. I don't get the chance to visit Edinburgh very often but make a point of going there when I do. the Tagine is superb!!

Not sure about evenings but no trip to Edinburgh is complete without breakfast at the Balmoral Hotel. It overlooks the misty morning castle and is a real humdinger of a really posh dining experience. An absolute must and everyone I've ever recommended it to has made it a priority on each subsequent visit. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!
