Why would you want to join a Mormon church if you have Baptist beliefs? Why would a Mormon want to join a Baptist church if they have Mormon beliefs? That makes no sense to me.
Mormon and Baptists are not the same. Maybe they have some of the same beliefs, but there are many differences as well.

Hi, I'm a Mormon. I hope I can shed some light on your question, which is a very interesting and good question.

First, like the Baptists, we believe in baptism by immersion. We believe that baptism is a covenant made between God and the individual, and is necessary for salvation. We also believe that baptism must be performed by one who has the proper priesthood authority, which is the authority to act in God's name on earth.

So to answer your question, because we believe that a Baptist minister does not hold the priesthood, your baptism into the Baptist Church would not be recognized in the LDS Church.

I hope that helps, if you still have quesions about the Mormons and our doctrines please look at http://www.mormon.org .

The e book of Mormon is a terrific e book. One has to study it to have self belief it. Joseph Smith became shown in a innovative and prescient the place it lay buried, and given the flexibility to translate it. the technique took months, and various scribes have been employed, and witnessed the translation technique. Joseph on no account had lots as a chew of paper, and translated the full ingredient from start to end devoid of ever dropping his place, or going back over any passage. whilst the translation became finished, 3 adult men have been promised that they might see the gold plates and meet the angel Moroni. David Whitmer, Oliver Cowdery and Martin Harris have been chosen to be witnesses, and did see the e book of Mormon, and the angel Moroni, and heard the voice of God declare the translation to be suitable. Their testimony could be stumbled on interior the front of the e book of Mormon. Others additionally testified to seeing the gold plates and the angel Moroni. in spite of the shown fact that many interior the Christian international are loathe to settle for further scripture, many do have self belief that the e book of Mormon is real scripture written by using historical prophets. some million/2 of the grownup club of the LDS church are converts from different church homes. Like I suggested until now, one has to study it to have self belief it. We invite human beings to study the e book of Mormon, and then ask God in spite of if it particularly is actual. God will answer the undemanding prayer.

Basically all religions wat you to be baptized within the religion. My husband has been baptized 3 times, as a baby in the Catholic Church, when he was a little child in the Methodist church, and then just recently in the LDS church. The only one that matters is to him is the one he chose to be baptized in, which is the LDS church. I guess when you are switching religions the baptism just signifies that. I dont think it's that big of a deal. I am LDS/Mormon and was only baptized within my religion when I was 8, which is when we get baptized in our religion. I'm not quite sure what you mean when you ask would your beliefs be acceptable in our church. We dont have a problem with what you believe, but if someone was to convert to our religion, such as my husband did, we would you to be re-baptized just as a lot of other religions would do.

Leave the outer and come into the inner.
What is with the joining of a church?
Where does it say you have to join a church?
I haven't been able to locate the verse in the Bible.

Why join a church?

Just go there.
When you don't like it anymore, just leave.

Do some research on the church that you plan to attend.
Find out if they are believing what you believe.

Well, if I understand your question correctly, you are asking why your baptism does not count in our faith? We believe that everyone on earth must be baptised in order to enter into our Heavenly Father's Kingdom, true. But the person doing the baptism must have the authority to do so. This is where the priesthood comes in. Visit www.lds.org for more info.

Baptism is a sign of God's covenant, and is to be dispensed by ministers of the Christian gospel and by none other. Baptism was instituted by the Lord Jesus and commanded to be used by all who will be counted members of his body. By Christian Baptism, we are engrafted into Christ Jesus, to be made partakers of his righteousness, by which our sins are covered and remitted.

Baptists and Mormons do not believe in the same God, covenant, or sacraments. Any Mormon who says they are the same as a Christian is lying.
