well the bible was made to show first hand encounters with god and Jesus and also to establish divinity because before christianity. Religions had never established more than myths and the gods and godesses where optional in how and when or even if you decided to worship obviously mankind does not do well without being told exactly what to do at all times thus constaninte picked the concrete religion and made all the bishops agree on certain scriptures and thus you have the bible. As for the second part of your question, Think about someone when they tell a story even in post modern times we exagerate to be more interesting or to make someone else sound better. In the end the pure and simple fact is humanity since the caveman has needed a way to deal with death and the afterlife and horrible things that other human beings do to each other what better way to ease societies minds than tell them. God will punish those evil people. You will be eternally happy as long as you follow him. That is basic Christianity.

There is a God and a Jesus, and yes men have made them out to sound better. The Bible was not made up but it was written and rewritten by men who put in there "two cent worth at the time" It is interpition you can find the truth. If you had kids you would understand that God wants of you what you want for and from your kids. Hey, I do know if there is a devine force or if we are controled by an Alien race, but hey, why take chances. Personally, clear thinking brings out the best in everyone and the clear thinkers read the Bible as a great advice book

You cant refute the evidence that Jesus existed. Even as agnostic as the science world is, they still agree that Jesus existed. As far as God existing...what do you think created everything? Even if you subscribe to the notion that we arose out of the "primordial ooze", that ooze was created by something.
God does exist today, everywhere. Its just that sometimes people dont see or choose not to. Back in the biblical times, they had a difficult way of discribing the supernatural, so it may sound lavish, but those are the thoughts, emotions, and visions that they felt while in the presence of the Almighty.

Do you breath everyday? Does the sun shine? Does food grow for you to eat? Does it rain? Do we have a variety of beauty around us? Are you able to smell delicious food or appreciate another human beings beauty? We don't need sight, smell and the variety of foods, seasons and wildlife to survive. Yet he provides all that for us. More important than physical appreciations what about him giving his only begotten son so that we could have our sins forgiven and have an avenue to communicate with God through prayer. You really should re-evaluate what you have and why you have it. No human provided you with all these things nor could they ever. It was all lovingly provided to you by God(Revelation 4:11), because he wants you to enjoy life. Yes we have suffering, but God promised us in the Bible that we would not have to endure that forever. If you look at world events the things going on are exactly what we were warned would happen in the last days. (1 TImothy 3:1-7 ) God also promised that we would have better conditions, not brought on by man but by him. (Micah 4:4, Psalms 37, 9-11, Revelation 21:3,4) Gods original purpose was for us to live in peaceful conditions, with perfect bodies/health. When Satan interrupted that and challenged God's way of ruling over mankind it didn't change God's original purpose for us. The bible is like precious letters from God, never doubt them. He has preserved them down to our day so that we could learn about him and appreciate the blessings that he has laid out for us to receive. I encourage you to have a serious study of the bible.

See once again here is a question from somebody who doesn't have a relationship with the true living God because if you did you would know that God still heals and does things for millions of people today . The problem is not God it's you and your unbelif and lack of relationship with Him. I'll pray that you will sincerly seek Him and he will show you the real truth that he's still the same God. Another thing wheter you believe it or not God does something for you everyday he allows you to breathe.!!

Now before you make such claim, such huge statement, THINK. The answer is of vital importance (to the question "Does God exist?). Research study search out, and you WILL find Him, the Bible says exactly that.
Who told you He doesn't do anything ? Just because He is God doesn't mean He can just stand around and do nothing.
He has an obligation, for He created us. He must take care of us, for He is a caring God, a loving God. If He wasn't, we would all just simply dissapear out of existance at His will, but obviously , He doesn't want that to happen, since we`re still alive.

Hey weirdo
you got a point
they are just books telling stories, giving advises, directions, some warnings to show man how to lead a life. Ever read the book so-called "newspapers"?
But have you ever wonder, the origin of
intelligence,creavitity..inspiration comes from?
for mere human to come up with that big fat idea/book may not be as simple to some especially for illiterates
Do you think,
god will simply drop his complete fat book to his messengers just like that, though he can? or
personally descend and preaches his wisdoms, would you believe?
when the great ones leave, improvisation begins for the opportunists..so.. the thousands and thousands of made-ups to this day
this is a way of god's encouragement for creativity but be careful of what you write or read and most of all with that god given brain-think before react
frankly, do you find it as easy to write your question?

No, God chooses to intervene on behalf of mainly only a certain group. In the past, it was almost exclusively Israel, but now (for a time) He has declared it to be the Church. God is working in the lives of Christians to make them more like Christ and to impact the world.
Of course, we aren't doing nearly as good a job as we should be, but that's beside the point.

The bible is a book... end of discussion.
Someone wrote a book and a few people began to believe in it. Then they said "you believe in this too or you are a witch and we can burn you because it says so in the book" and so those people believed.
Kinda like when the first War of the Worlds came out and it was broadcasted as a news reel and everyone panicked and thought that the world was being invaded by aliens.
