Forget about spot reducing a certain body part. It doesn’t work. A body part is too big because that is part of your body where you tend to store excess body fat. Resistance exercising will not decrease fat in an area … it will only build the muscle that sits under the fat. It is totally impossible to change fat into muscle. They are two separate tissues.
If you want to make a body part smaller then you have to decrease the amount of body fat stored at that area. To decrease body fat you need to do two things. One: change your diet; eating a healthier diet so that the amount of calories you take in each day is less than the amount of calories you burn each day during activities. And two: increase the amount of calories you are burning each day by increasing your cardiovascular exercise. Also, doing weight training exercises for the entire body will help you build some muscle mass, which will help increase your resting metabolic rate, so you will burn more calories on a daily basis.

This is impossible--our body burns fat from all areas of the body, not just a single targeted area.Unfortunately, you will have to lose weight in other places to lose the weight off of your legs. You might want to look into liposuctioning the fat off of your legs.

ride a bike and do knee bends.
get into some yoga too.. since not only you want to slim down but are also into sports.. it'll help you all over.
you'll feel better too.
your legs are just in need of toning up. they'll slim a bit once you keep up the activity that's aerobic. walk more too, that'll take the 'puddy' out of your legs also.
take the stairs too, don't forget that.
add more fiber to the diet too.. veggies, fruits that are fresh not canned or frozen.
drink more water of course, you already understand that since you're a sportster.

Are you sure there's fat on your legs? Many people who play sports that really use the leg muscles develop big thighs and calves.

Since you play soccer, you're actually gaining more muscle in your legs, not fat. If you want to tone it down, do pilates or yoga.
