My heritage is Black, Irish, Dutch, Mexican, and Cherokee. I'm really attracted to Latino guys, and I actually prefer to date them. When I tell people this, they jump on me asking me why I don't want to date a Black guy. It really doesn't matter to me what race he is, but I'm just attracted to Latinos mostly. What's wrong with having a preference?

Girl, nothing is wrong with having a preference.!!!! The only thing they need to be concerned about is that you don't date anybody crazy! Because crazy runs in all races!!!! Matter of fact, nobody in America is truly pure, especially black folks!!!! I have a mother that looks like she can pass for a types of different races! She doesn't look "black" at all, but she is. What truly matters is the personality and mental health of the person, not their skin. It's a blessing to be able to cross over into many different races and experience their cultures. I love Latino men!!!!! I'm African American, french, Shoshone Indian, white, and last but not least Cherokee also. Sister girl date on!!!!! Plus, black guys seem to give out the most trouble, then again all guys do. They're just hating because you have the looks to switch to any race. Is it the black guys that are giving you the grief or what? You know they have preferences too!!! WE ALL DO!!

I feel that usually people are attracted to a certain chemistry. I have known many people that have been attracted to a certain type of person or race and then all of a sudden, they are attracted to a different race, but because they had that special chemistry that they were looking for.
Race does not matter, it is character, personality, values, etc.
I think it may be the culture that you really love, and that is great!
Be patient with people, be patient with yourself when you get reactions that you are not desiring. Not everyone is as open minded as you.
By the way, there is nothing wrong with having a preference. You are the one that will be spending time with this person, you choose who you want to be with.

Nothing at all! Everyone has there own preference, if we all liked the same type of guy then some of us would be missing out. I myself prefer black guys and I am Dutch/Irish/Spanish and Portuguese. I use to get the same talks, learn to stick up for what you want and not care what others think. Only you can make yourself happy!

I can't believe that people are asking you about a black guy. If you are attracted to certain characteristics, then you're attracted to certain characteristics. You can have any preference you want. After all, you'll be the one spending most of the time with that person...not them.

Nothing at all wrong with having a preference. I'm a WASP, but I personally prefer dark skinned women. Who knows why this is?

nothing is wrong with your preference, but you should keep an open mind (just in case some cute hottie from a different race attracts your attention).

It's your preroggative. You can do what you want to do. Preference is choice and we all should be able to make choices without having to feel guilty about them as long as we don't hurt someone in the process of making these choices.

No problem having a preference, but if Mr. Right is out there, and he's black, don't snub him. Keep an open mind.
