I left for a week on vacation and one of my friends took care of my persian, and my cat got angry one day and she actually peed on my bed.. she didn't really eat either, so it could be the fact that your kitty is missing your boyfriend - maybe you're missing him too - are you eating and playing? lol
If it's really of concern or if this keeps up over the next day or two, bring your kitty in to the vet. Check to see how your kitty's bodily functions are working too - if there's abnormalities like the runs and stuff, be sure to bring her in.

I have a Himalayan kitty, 10 weeks old, half (Persian and half Siamese). She insist on being with someone at all times, she started wetting our couch when we would leave her. She hides under the couch when we are gone, but while we are home, she follows us room to room, sleeping where ever we sit. I do believe this type of cat has the Persian personality, loving and family oriented. She may be upset, cats are just like people and are in a routine of daily life. I am sure she will snap out of it, give her a treat or some soft food to cheer her up, play with her a little extra. She's your baby now and missing her daddy!
Good luck.

I have found that persians have a very strange attitude when it comes to how they act to the humans they love. I have 3 other cats, 1 male domestic short hair, 2 female domestic long hairs and the newest to my little clan 1 female Persian. I went away for the weekend and had my friend take care of her while I was gone it took almost a week after I came home for her to even let me hold her. She just totally ignored me when I was home. The other 3 cats could have cared less, nothing about there normal behavior changed. Give her a bath there's another week of not paying any attention to me!! She's such a brat! Good luck!

My Persian is definitely very perceptive of changes and will let us know by changing behavior when he's not as happy as he previously was. They are definitely very emotional cats, from my experience. If this is one change and there doesn't seem to be any indication of illness (vomiting, bathroom problems), I'd just keep an eye on the kitty. But if it lasts or if there are other problems, I'd see a vet, as the only way to know for certain will be to check the kitty out.

My Persians are very emotionally attached to my husband and me. When we take a vacation, the people who look out for them always have a difficult time getting them to socialize. Sometimes they just hide under the bed. My husband and I rarely take a vacation together because of this. Even when one of us is gone, the other will notice a change in their behavior. This being said, not eating is not a great sign. If it continues, you may want to have the kitty checked out by a vet.

It sounds like normal behavior. I have a four year old cat and there will be days where she'll run around the house chasing everything in site, playing with her toys and then will woof down her entire food bowl - then there are other days where she's contempt to lie on the back of the sofa all day and not touch her food or water. I know that rug (our cat) does mope around the house when my boyfriend isn't around - she's listless until he comes home. Sounds like totally normal cat behavior though.

The kitty is depressed and misses Daddy. Our cat does that, she's become partial to me, although she loves us both, when I go to work and my hubby is here, she will cry and mope and sleep til I get home. It's perfectly normal. You could have him call up and leave a message on your answering machine if you have one and play it for kitty and see if it helps any.

What you should do is check if she's feeling well and then if she's not that herself then take her to the vet and see what's wrong maybe she's distressed, pregnant, having a fever, any thing could be wrong, or check what she's eaten in the last 48 hours.

I dont think being persian has anything to do with it. Mixed breed cats get sick too. She might be just having an off day. If you are worried about it , consult your vet.

This is not normal for a four-month old kitten. She is probably not all that aware of your bf's absence.
Please call your vet and relate what is going on. I think he might like to see her and it would be best that you be sure nothing drastic is going on.
