We have a lawyer looking after all the paperwork for us so I am not so worried about having proper documents.. Our marriage is Legit and we havea son together.. my biggest problem or worry is the fact that I stayed in the US much longer than allowed because I was pregnant with my son.. and then he came 2 months early and was in terrible health.. I couldn't leave with him still in the hospital..so I waited until he was in good health and then we came back to Canada of our of free will to get my papers done properly... I am most worried that they will "ban" me and we will have to put a petition in... if that is the case.. I will have another 6 months to a year here...I have already been away from my husband for a year and a half.. I can't take it anymore!! I know I did wrong..I just hope they will have some compassion with where I was coming from with my son.. we also have the Arizona Senator telling them he wants us home.. how much difference do you think that would make???

Sorry, I don't know.
If it were me, I'd move up there with you instead.

Dont be. Its not like you are immigrating from Mexico or some 3rd world country. In that case I would freak out because they pretty much stick a rod up your *** and dont remove it until the interview is done.
Are you white? If so, then don't worry, your interview will go smoothly. If not, be prepared to be asked the stupidiest questions about your ancestors.
You are a Canadian citizen, they know if they give you crap you can just go back to Canada, which is pretty much the same as there.
They will ask you a million questions about your past and a billion more about your husband. They will ask you many personal questions about your husband's life.
Don't worry, you will do fine

The interview should be simple. Divide what you need to bring into 3 folders:
1) Bring your and your spouse's passports, Driver's licenses, birth certificate for the American spouse.
2) Bring proof of your life together--bills with both your names, photos together, lease/ownership of property together, insurance policies, etc.
3) Finally, bring proof of employment for whomever is working. A letter from your and your spouse's employer stating 1) you are an employee; 2) how long you have been working there; 3) what your current salary/wage is. Also bring a recent pay stub.
If you have all that, and you don't have any criminal convictions or past fraud, you should be fine! Good luck!

A good friend of mine (also a Canadian married to a U.S. citizen). If your marriage is legit I wouldn't worry. They asked to see various documents (driver's licenses, utility bills, apartment lease w/both names) that have the same address. Also, make sure you have photos (they'll take one for your file), birth certificates, and pay stubs for the U.S. citizen.
Some of the questions asked:
How did you meet?
How long did you know each other before you got married?
Who attended your wedding?
Have you met each other's families?
If you have any "red lights" (big age difference, different religions, different races) they might ask you more indepth questions about your everyday married life.
Good luck and don't worry the folks at the USCIS know EVERYONE is nervous at these interviews.

I agree with others.... don't worry too much... it may only make you look like you have something to hide.... calm down.... if they ask.... tell them the truth.... answer their questions....
when i had mine, they asked us to swear were are telling the truth, took our IDs, it was mostly silence when he looked over my files, they asked me questions about what i did in school and how did my meet my husband, he repeated the questions over and over, nothing serious, and they asked for some paperwork.... but since we had much more than they even asked for.... i think they just saw how prepared we were and they saw that we were not faking our relationship.... we dated for a long time, we had tons of pictures showing that etc etc.... and i heard having a child together is cement in a relationship to them sometimes....
i would suggest you bring your child's medical records to prove why you stayed though....just to make sure they beleive you (but I am sure you already have that).... but they will probably will only ask you simple stuff.... just relax.... and make sure you have ur IDs, and your paperwork.... and I am sure your lawyer will make sure everything will go smoothly too
if you have any questions, you can contact me

once you flow on your clinical you'd be requested about drug and alcohol use. Drug attempting out will be performed even with the undeniable fact that it is not commonly used. frequently they're searching for for communicable diseases and could try you for HIV and syphilis, grant you with a chest X-ray, they'll examine your vaccination record and grant any lacking vaccines for a cost (this is more low-priced in case you'll get your GP to do them), they'll ask about your clinical heritage (including psychological well being topics) and also you need to have letters from any docs treating you once you've any concern which could desire continuing clinical care contained in the U. S.. on the Embassy this is available that you will be requested back about this yet back they don't ask anybody.

Nothing to worry about. It's very basic questions like how long you've been here, how did you get her (Canadian Passport or whatever) do/did you work here, what line of work and stuff like that.
Most importantly, be honest. They may already know the answers to a lot of the questions they ask.
