I am the Infantry, follow me.
Once you are a combat trained the way you look at life, the confidence in your ability to do any task that is set in front of you is extraordinary. Anyone with this training will always have the understanding that only a few can do what combat men and women do. Combat is the biggest mind f@($. Something that the average person could not handle long term.
I was a soldier a million years ago. The kind of years that feel like yesterday.
I would fight again, but not for the government, apple pie or duty.
It would be for the guy next to me and the American who can't do what I do.
When everything melts down the average American will thank God there are people like Veterans ready for the fight.
None of us want to fight but who else is going to clean up the politicians mess.

I'm getting out. All because of Bush. I know quite a few others that are getting out because of his policy. A Captain I served with passed on being promoted to Rear Admiral for working on the 9/11 reports. The conclusions he sent up were not the conclusions that were in the paper, yet were attributed to him. A very good friend of mine walked out after 15 years because of the same thing. And it's not an isolated thing either.

I am a service connected disabled vet. I wouldn't sign up while bush is taking money away from veterans healthcare and sending it to Iraq for thier healthcare. How do you think the guys over there feel when they find out bush is taking away thier healthcare dollars and using it to help the people who are shooting at them?

I ask my husband and he said, "No Way". He spent a good part of his life defending his country. He is too old to be called up, but if he were younger, it would be a much harder decision than in the eras before Bush.

Yes, but i guess it does depend on how old i would be. Im currently in iraq now, but if i was needed, would gladly rejoin my fellow soldiers if physically capable.
