If you think YES, have you as yet found a way to explain why many whales have traces of hind leg bones?

There are cases where whales have been found with rudimentary hind limbs in the wild, and have been found in baleen whales, humpback whales, and in many specimens of sperm whales. Most of these examples are of whales that had only leg bones, but there were some that included feet with complete digits.

Please feel free to show your disgust with cut-and-paste scripture quotes.

Krystal: You probably don't realise this, but your stubborn refusal to read a science book makes you look really, really silly, LOL - we. did. NOT. evolve. FROM. monkeys! LOL!

answer: no, evolution is not a myth, its a scientific theory based on the facts,

can we come up with a better one? sure, but i dont think saying genesis 1:24 really cuts the mustard

I'm a fervent Christian -- but really, the only myth is the creation story told in the Bible. That myth has a moral, no doubt, but it probably has only a glancing relationship to reality.

Evolution is not a myth. In fact it is inevitable; if you accept that genetic changes can occur spontaneously (and they can, that's not really questioned in science) then the more likely survival of those whose genetic makeup is better adapted to the environment is, well, inevitable.

Consider this. If God in His wisdom decided to spend all this time on this incredible, intricate and compliex biological machinery for plants and animals and then plopped man and woman here separately, why did He also burden us with all the same problems inherent to those plants and animals He decided to bypass? I mean, we're subject to the same diseases, our genetic equipment works the same -- which means it also breaks down the same -- we have the same skeletal structure with all its strengths and flaws, we have the same organs as most mammals and even most lower animals (hearts, lungs, digestive system, nervous system) and thus the same problems.

There's no point second guessing God but frankly the evidence all points to man evolving from lower forms of life. If those so-called intelligent designers would take a step back, they'd realize that there is no greater intelligent design than to start with simple one-celled organisms billions of years ago and know you will eventually end up with man.

I'd like to think that this does NOT make me less of a fervent Christian. I'm sure many answering here would disagree but oh well. (By the way, the sun does not go around the earth, the earth is not the center of the universe, the earth is not a mere 6,000 years old and the flood, which probably DID occur, happened through geologic processes and was not world-wide -- again, evidence that the so-called intelligent designer knew all along what He was doing.)

Evolution is a broad subject and included many things.

The adaptation of species is a fact as that has been observed. That one species becomes another is a theory.

There are some points to it but it doesn't answer everything no has it been empirically demonstrated.

Well, if God created whales...couldn't he have created them with tiny legs? Wow...that one was easy. lol

Really, you have to be a little better than that if you're going to be a troll. This one is just too obvious and it doesn't really incite any degree of defensiveness or anger.

(BTW, I don't have any problem with evolution. It's a well proven theory and is readily observable. But having said that, it presents no moral dilemma or conflict with my belief in God either.)

Evolution is a theory. Science has not been able to fully support this theory, but would love to. Many who think the theory of evolution is proven, say things that are not true and make claims that they don't understand. I personally think it is foolish to banter about, saying things I know nothing about.

No, i don't believe so, because there is to much scientific evidence from the skeletons that have been dug up. So i would say that we have developed from primitive creatures to what we are now....primitive creatures, at least to God's eyes I'm sure.

did you see that star trek movie where they went back in time and saved the whales? (the earth as well?)

maybe I bore you with what you consider unimportant stuff. I didn't mean to do that.

Has not man made enough mistakes that they should see man can't prove everything? All scientific proof for evolution is simply man's best guess. The first part that is wrong is ASSUMING the earth is 4.5 billion years old and humans are 2-250,000. That is taking man's belief...not fact...and there wasn't anyone here to prove it! Every single dating method man uses to show how old something is disagrees with others. They just use one that comes up with the answer they want.
I believe in 6 LITERAL days and God rested on the 7th. Any other interpretation, gap theory, millions of years, evolution etc is solely man's OPINION and NOT scripture. Evolution doesn't hold water. Evolution is solely dependent on the big bang theory. The big bang and evolution together can not answer...
where the two pieces of matter that collided came from;
what the ACTUAL probability of two of these correct pieces of matter meeting at the right time, at the right place, at the right speed, at the right angle, with the right atmospheric or lack thereof to produce things as we know it;
how a cell in the ocean morphed itself into a fishlike creature;
how this fishlike creature began to breathe air and why it would want to do so;
how and why it decided to go on land;
how it morphed itself into all the different species;
how out of this it was able to morph into a human being which is the only creature on earth with the ability to speak logically, reason, and feel emotion;
how plants survived before they "learned" photosenthesis;
why the holy grail of evolution (Berkley) says on its site that this is what they BELIEVE to be true but is not fact;

All scientific answers are man's best GUESS. There is NO absolute fact, try as he might and as smart as he thinks he is. People think since we get in a car and it takes us where we are going (sometimes) and you can turn on a computer and do most anything (sometimes) man can put a date on things billions of years ago based on things they "think" happened. Problem is, man makes mistakes and evolution is just one of the many.
I have a choice. I can fold in to their way of thinking so I don't get made fun of and then have to answer to God, OR I can allow them to scoff at me and then let THEM answer to Him. I choose the latter. Atleast I can say they have been told. They will have no excuse.
There is only ONE True God.
