I just want to write a simple will allocating my estate to my parents. Is it true that if I am single, my estate will go to my parents equally. I have one sister.

Yes a simple will may not cost money. But be advised that a will that involves real property will required it to be filed officially as otherwise it is not valid.

there are also restriction on what you cannot will out especially when you have young children as your wife is still legally entitled. (so quick rush to divorce courts)

certain nomination of beneficiary under the insurance act cannot be also changed without informing the beneficiary.

Hence Yes it can be free, but remember that you may be making a invalid or contestable will which is going to be problematic for your children or beneficiary.

making a will cost between 300 to 500 sgp and therefore i would suggest you see a lawyer for it to have it properly done

There are lots of will templates. Much depends on on what state you live in. You can start by visiting Nolo Press's website. They have a lot of law related do-it-yourself resources available. And just for the record, I have no proprietary interest in Nolo Press.
