When I get even a little nervous I have to use the bathroom, I get diarrhea. Sometimes I'll be at work and if I have normal foods (not fast food or junk food) they'll go right through me and I'll have to run to the bathroom. After dinner I always get a bad case of gas. I often wake up bloated and gassy. I tried talking to my doctor about this problem, but he prescribed Gas-X for me and it's not working. Even the extra-strength doesn't work. He said it'll start to work after about two weeks, but I haven't noticed a difference. Could it be from a lack of fiber in my diet? I try to eat the daily amount of fiber I'm allowed. I don't go over it. Please give me some advise on what I should do?

I wish i knew how old you are,but it seems stress is the trigger for your symptoms.I have ulcerative colitis and it was brought on by stress. I recognise what you are going through as the beginning stages of my disease. Please go see a gastroenterologist. This is a specialist doctor that will be able to diagnose and treat you correctly. Please don't wait.It doesn't go away or get better by itself. Please feel free to contact me if you want to.Good luck.(ask him about Crohns disease and Ulcerative colitis)

you could indeed have IBS. Try taking something like Imodium once a day. If it irritates your system like it does mine, switch to Loperamide Hydrochloride. In Canada its sold as walmart's store brand of diarrhea relief, and is about half the cost of Imodium. Many people have stress induced IBS.

1. Cut out the junk food (all of it)
2. Eat Raisin Bran for breakfast.
3. Take antacid tablets regularly.
4. Eat sensibly (i.e. protein, green veggies, fruit)

Yes, I beleive you do have IBS. I have it too. Try Immodium/with gas relief. It's expensive, but it works wonders. Okay, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and go to the nearest pharmacy.

Rite-Aid
CVS
Thrift Drug
Walgreens
Drug Imporium

I would add more fiber to your diet. You can get yummy fiber tablets that you can eat like little candies--they're really not that bad--that should help regulate your system.
I would go to webmd.com and type in your systems and you might get help there.

TRY GIVING UP OR CUT IN HALF THE FIBER INTAKE, OR CHECK OTHER OPTIONS OTHER THAN THE FIBER SOURCE YOU USE NOW, LIKE METAMUCIL OR BENI FIBER ETC. BE CAREFUL DOCTORS LOVE TO CAL IT IBS, AND PRESCRIBE MEDS AND RETURN VISITS.

Could very well have it. My wife does and your symptoms are the same as hers. It would be a good thing to see a doctor... there are some medications that can "help" it.
