Im just entering south beach diet phase 2. It says I am allowed to have some cereals but can i have it with milk? Also can i have one serving of each category a day or one a day. For example can i have fruit for breakfast and whole wheat bread for lunch or only one of these a day? anyone who has info about phase 2 please share. thanks

Milk is ok on south beach now...So not to worry on that one and as for the other carbs just keep them low...What I found worked perfectly was if I was having any healthy carbs I had them before noon...I found that I am such a carb addict that if I had rice or something with dinner I felt snacky allll night but if I had toast or cereal for breakfast OR say a sanwich for lunch I was ok...I would just add them in slowly and watch the scale for a week and see if you keep losing if you aren't then you've added back too many...Cut back again....Good luck!

i started phase one on 7/9, but i didn't realize that's the diet i was on until someone gave me the south beach book. i thought fruit was okay until i read about its heavy glycemic index...once i cut the fruit, i began to see real results. i'm showing a lot more definition in my 6-pack now!

if you really dig cereal, get some "uncle sam" for under $2 per box.it's straight whole grain and tastes really great with blueberries and plain soymilk. it's one of the diamonds i've discovered since trying this diet. i've never dieted in my life because i've always been slim. this diet has really cleared my blood, vision, thought processes, etc...it's fun!

soymilk is every bit as enjoyable as regular milk.

avoid bread/pasta at every opportunity if you really want results. when you DO succumb to the bread thing be ready to exercise harder the next day.

good luck!
