I have a 4 month old yorkie-chi. She does not like going outside for walks or anything. I have her litterbox trained. I can get her to go out on our screened-in deck for some fresh air if I'm right next to her the whole time. Do I need to force her to have outdoor time every day or is just playing games in the house enough?

My house doesn't reek in the least ******! I clean the litterbox each time she uses it. Why don't you read up on litterbox training toy breeds instead of running your mouth about something you, apparently, know nothing about like many other subjects you mouth off on here about.

let her do it at her own pace. mayb there is sth out there tat fightens her a lot, like vehicles or pple. pls don't force her. it will make her more unwilling to get outside. worse still, she might turn aggressive.
u can consult yr vet, or read up at the library. puppies for dummies and other books like tat offer gd tips on making yr puppy less afraid of the outside env.

Unless you plan to never, ever take your dog out of the house for its entire life, you should work now on getting her comfortable outdoors. Start slowly be sitting with her at the front door and playing with her or giving her yummy treats. When she is comfortable at the door, take one or two steps out and do the same thing. Continue to slowly increase how far away from the house she will go. Make sure that every experience she has outside is positive, so don't do this if there are a bunch of kids outside running and screaming, or if the aggressive dog from the other end of the block is walking by your place. With patience and many good experiences, she will soon like being outside.

What is a yorkie-chi? Is that some kind of mutt? Anyway, as long as she is happy and getting plenty of exercise I don't think it really matters where she plays. You should probably take her for walks outside a couple of times a week though so she can get used to being outside of her comfort zone (i.e. your house) It's a good way to socialize dogs so that they aren't weary of strangers or other dogs, and it's the best exercise for her.

awww, this is the bast time to get her used to going outside. all animals can use some outdoor time. pick her up and take her out. you can walk around holding her if she is too scared to walk outside at first. ya gotta remember she is very tiny and the whole huge big loud world may be very scary for her. also try taking her to someplace like a park where there is grass. some dogs dont like patios cuz they are usually not at ground level and being up high can be scary for them.

It sounds like you baby her too much, you should make her go outside. She NEEDS to be socialized. Those two breeds turn into fear biters very easily!!! Make sure you get her around as many people and situations as possible. She will be a much happier dog if she is not scared of every new situation

At 4 months of age she is more than likely going through a scared phase. You need to work with her to get her to like the outdoors. play with her and get her to enjoy going out

shes a toy breed so you really dont have to force her to go outside .. although the fresh air and sun will give her the vitamins she needs... you can always buy that so i would say if she doesnt like it dont force her she feels safer in your home and remember its not cruel if that is what she prefers.

Hello
You need to make the puppy walk out on her on.
You will have to force her to go out, show her you our the boss,or she will run your whole house. You will hate that in the end.

i think you'll find she doesn't need the exercise but it would be good for her to socialize go to a small dog training club take her out with you in the car or maybe believe it or not she finds it cold. Me i would try to socialize with her more to build up her confidence good luck
