Sweetie, don't be nervous. High school can turn out to be some of the best and most memorable years of your life! I'm in university now, and having a blast, so you have great things to look forward to! Don't worry at all. You'll probably meet some of your best friends for life in high school. One caution... choose your friends very carefully. Some are only there for the good times, but not when you really need them. If you have any close friends from junior high, stay tight with them. Good luck!

The hardest thing about starting high school is the anticipation beforehand!

Just remember not to be sucked in by all the crazy parts: cliques, gangs, drugs, initiations. Stick to your class work. Make friends slowly. Go to school functions, because they are fun like some of your previous answerers said. Join some sports that may interest you...Science clubs and other esoteric subjects should be considered just as important as sports.

And you really do get back what you put into it, so go to school expecting to be excited by whatever new things you learn today, and make sure that at least SOME of those are learned in the classroom!

i was in th same boat that you are right now. in my 9th grade year, i transfered to a different high school. there, i didn't know anyone. the best thing is that you should always keep your head up, and try to make friends. the other part is the work load in high school will probably be harder than what you were used to in your previous school. i find that my friends who were in middle school and had just gotten to high school found high school classes more difficult than middle school. the other thing is that you won't learn on your own pace, because teachers have schedules that they have to go n in order to get you ready for end of year tests. hope that helps

starting HS wasn't bad, but as things progressed i had a bad experience, and i was very quiet and shy at the time so i never stood up for myself. I did have some pretty great times though. My advise would be work hard do your best and don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and things you believe in no matter what! make good friends, and great memories, take lots pf pictures and treasure the experience!

Well your teachers like it when you know how to spell!!! As long as you remain true to you, you should have no problems. You already have friends, but now is your chance to widen your circle!! Have fun and go to as many school dances and football and baseball games as you can. That might sound corny, but I always had a blast at them. Just take your friends with you!

High School (UK) was one of the worst experiences of my life. I lasted less than a year and transferred to a different school.

Just jump in full speed ahead! I joined a team and that helped a lot. You get to know people right away. Don't worry too much, everybody has been there and we all survived just fine!

This is the homeschooling section. Are you homeschooling for high school or going off to school? Have you been homeschooled?
