Joseph Smith was a latter day con artist (I meant saint). So was Brigham Young and other founders of Mormonism.

Well, the falling away from the truth is well documented both in historical texts and in the Bible. (See 2 Thes. 2:3 for example). After the early saints and apostles were all systematically killed off, the church was leaderless and persecuted until it was hijacked by the Roman empire and turned into a grotesque political puppet in the 4th century. Then we have the slide into the Dark Ages, the atrocities of the Crusades and the Inquisition, etc. Can anyone doubt that the "saints" had fallen away from the truth at this point?

Many churches broke away from the church at this point because it was obvious that it was completely corrupted. Thus began protestantism. However, these protestant break-aways had no more legitimate claim to authority and truth than their parent church did at that point.

A restoration was required. A restoration is what happened. That is why the LDS church is referred to as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is the same church that Jesus initially established, but in these latter days.

I think it is pretty awesome that God continues to speak to men today. Most churches out there don't believe that. They continue to cling to a 2000 year old book and basically believe that God, angels, and revelation died out when the apostles did. And they're right. Without a restoration, Christianity would continue to be dead. But it's not.

All the early morning saints were taken, so it had to be later day saints. I am going to start my own "The only True Church" and I think I will have to call it the "Church of the Early Evening Saints." What do you think?

Nothing was wrong with the early day saints (early members of the Christian church), it's just to point out that this is the RESTORED church that those early Christians followed, to show that the prophesies of the restoration have been fulfilled.

best wishes.

They say that the earlier saints were corrupted by the many versions of the bible. And turned evil. So thats where Joseph Smith came in and invented the idea of the book of mormon, his soul purpose of life was to replace the bible. Then it backfired on him and it had to go with the bible, making this guy a scam artist. I might add... those missionaries are soooo fine!!! I was once mormon and this is my own opinion. Thanks for the points

latter day saints probbaly are just refering to themselves and not meant as a put down

however in many ways they dont seem to see eye to eye with Peter Paul Jesus or Moses when it comes to the scriptures and to justify many Mormon beliefs have to thrown out all scriptures but their own leaving no check of truth for their own scriptures?
