I would buy the 5lb bag (which isn't that much, they are VERY heavy)... and give the extra to the guests as gifts in decorative bags. The guests will love it.

I forget where my mom ordered them (it might be jordanalmond.com) but we needed 5 pounds. Some kind of tradition calls for 5 for each guest and we expected 120 people. We did have extras but it was better than running out. Craft sotres usually sell them (Micahels for instance) or the lady that made my cake sold them by the pound too. Oh, and we had them delivered two weeks before the wedding.
Good luck!

I found them in bulk bins at the candy store at the mall but I live in a moderately sized city. Worth a try... they had several colors. I saw Martha Stewart bag them in plastic bags (selephan) and tie them with ribbon and a small sprig of greenery to compliment the decor.

Try a local sandy store so that you can get the amount you want a week or so before the wedding. They don't really go stale, but you could get the colors, or mix of colors, the way you want.

I had mine delivered a month before the wedding and they were fresh. If ordering by catalog, the catalog should tell you when to order them.
