Read a good book about something totally unrelated to him. Watch a very involved show on television. Talk on the phone to someone else so that theirs will be the last voice that you hear before you go to sleep.
I wrote a poem called "Can A Woman Sleep In Peace?" about this same subject because for the longest time my ex husband would sliver into my dreams and it pissed me off. We would be doing all kinds of things in my dreams from sexing to just hanging out. I tried to fight it but I had no control over it but it's been a while since I had one of those dreams. When someone hurts us, it goes deeper than the surface and when our bodies tire and sleep is coming on, we are at our least alert. Just try to get past it...it takes time. Good luck!

I listen to books on tape (usually short stories since I will fall asleep anyway and wont here the end). It makes me focus on the story rather than the othr stuff flowing through my brain. I have also tried meditation, relaxation cds, etc. You can find books on meditation at the library or look it up online to find a good way to do that.

Take a sleeping pill. It takes your mind off the pain and lets you go to sleep.
My brain always won't shut off even when there's a really small thing bothering me. I went to the doctor about it and he gave me Sonata which just shuts it off completely.

Find something to distract you. Watch a movie. Read a book. Go for a walk. Clean the house.

OK, try this.
Snuggle down comfy in bed and then close your eyes and visualise him getting really humiliated in front of a lot of people. It has to be vivid enough for you to actually laugh.
~or~
Write him a letter, telling him everything that you want to say to him, how you feel etc. read it several times, but then tear it up into lots of pieces, when you tear it up vent your anger onto tearing up the letter.
Te latter was suggested to me by a counselor, the first one I just discovered by accident.

go out and meet some new guys! he obviously doesn't deserve you so it's best to forget about the past and move on. even if moving on is a painful process, hanging out with your girlfriends and some ben & jerry's never hurts :)
good luck!

Why is revenge necessary? If the guy stiffed you my advice is to spread the word about him. LOL....go to datingpsychos.com and post. You may have a better time doing that.
