My boyfriend Jaie got sent to jail about three to four weeks ago...a couple days before my birthday...and as much as I love him i can't help but think that i should be moving on with my life. No one knows how long he'll be in jail. i'm going crazy without him but i don't know how long i should have to wait. i love him with all my heart and i think about him all day and night long. should i still wait for him or should i move on with whats happeining in the here and now??

we've been through alot of court proceedings and all that. he was arrested for accomplise to residential burgulary. i just don't want to break his heart because i love him WAY too much to do that

if you really love him the way you say you do...then he is in the here and now. i have worked in a prison for a long time and i have seen how it effects a man when the girl he loves writes and tells him it's over and done with......maybe you shouldn't do that ok. if he's going thru court proceedings, then someone should know what type of charges he's facing and what his sentence could be.... if he's been in jail for 3 to 4 weeks already, then he has already gone to court for whatever he did. i think you need to get all your facts first and then make a decision as to what it is you want to do. and as for how long you should wait for him....no one can tell you that...you have to do what's right for you.

Is the reason he's in jail because of domestic violence? Even if that isn't the case, a person who has done something to be put in jail is probably not the right one for you. Please get involved in things you're interested in (try volunteering, for example) and work on discovering who you are and what you want from life and a new relationship. Don't go to bars or go on the Internet to find men...churches, volunteer activities, libraries, etc. are good places to meet like-minded folks.

okay i was dating a guy who got sent to jail and i waited on him for over a year finally we had a long talk about it being okay for me to go out with people while he is away because it isnt like he could take me out right now and i deserve to have fun he is still in there we still talk write letters and believe that one day we will be together maybe you should talk to him and you will fell alot better i know i did!!

Honey, I have dated all kinds and the bad boys may be appealing now but- how are you going to like 2 years down the road and explaining to your babies why their daddy isn't there to tuck them in? Face it, if your man's in jail, you may need to move on. He's not a good one to begin with.

I would move on. Obviously he is doing things that aren't good and thats never healthy for a relationship. If you want a real relationship, find someone who doesn't break the law. Otherwise you'll just be stuck alone writing letters to someone you don't see.

Depending on how long y'all have been together and on what level the relationship was on he's lock up so if y'all had a serious relationship stay down for him he'll be so grateful for you when he get out

You need counseling regarding self-esteem issues. You can't see past it and only you can recognize it. If you listen to him what do you think he is going to tell you. Protect yourself! in the end its all you have, not a man.
