I proposed to my man at a party. I was a lil saucy and I didnt plan it but meant every word. he wasnt drinking at all and said yes....we laughed about it afterwards and confirmed that we both were serious about getting hitched....should I get him a ring and ask him the right way or wait for him to produce a ring....and if I should what type of engagement ring for a guy?

I would ask him. He may be cool with it seeing as you proposed and he was cool with that, but he may want to do the ring buying. If you want to get him something, get him something that's a silver band or something, that way if he doesn't want one or doesn't wear it then you didn't blow your budget, and if he loves it you can get one made just like it in gold or platinum.

a little pushy and presumptive, don't you think? Did you ask him if he wants to be the man in the family? If so, then you need to wait for "him" to ask you. When he "finally" if ever buys the wedding bands that go with the engagement ring, at that time you can ask him if he is going to wear a wedding band.

There is no engagement ring for a guy (of course these days some people change the rules of etiquette). In fact, a lot of guys don't even wear a wedding band.

Hitched? Isn't the proper word "married"?

I probably wouldn't give him a ring however if it works in your relationship then go for it! You could always take him for an engagment dinner and say you are buying him dinner instead of a ring. Maybe that will give him the incintive to buy you a ring. Either way you are engaged, ring or not. Congrats and I think its great that you asked him!

Wake up GIRL! Its the 2000's. If you proposed to your man then you are obviouly the one in control of the relationship.

You by him a ring to show the world that he is yours. If he feels the same, He'll buy you one too.

congratulations on your engagement but i think that he should be the one getting you the ring, hehe. guys don't really get engagement rings and even though it was you who proposed, you should still be the one getting the ring

best of luck!

most men don't wear engagement rings, but i would get him something really simple if you wanted to get something. since you two are serious, you should ask him to get you a ring, maybe the two of you could go together to get it since it's no surprise.

congrats

Guysdont get engagement rings, they give them. But you could go out and buy your wedding ring set, that way you know they will match.
