Everyone who dies goes to hell. It is the common grave of mankind. Jesus himself was in hell for three days after he died.
It is not a place of torment. Here are a few places where hell (Greek "hades") or in (Hebrew "sheol") can be found:
Psalms 139:8: " If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."
Proverbs 9:18: " But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell."
Proverbs 15:24: "The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath."
Amos 9:2: " Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down."
Jonah 2:2: " And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice." (The belly of the fish that swallowed Jonah would have been his grave, had God not rescued him)
When Adam and Eve sinned, they were told they would return to the ground from where they came. They were not told that they would be tortured forever in fire. It is comforting to know that no one is being tortured when they die, for God is not sadistic but is a loving God. The Bible says the dead know nothing at all. (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10)

The only one who should judge a killer is God. We all have souls and God is able to read them. He knows if you are truly sorry for the sins you commited. We are all sinners, some great and some small. God is all forgiving and loves all his children. If you ask for forgiveness, he may just let a killer into heaven, if that person is completely sorry.

God already knows why you did what you did, and no amount of bargaining will deceive God
I don't believe in hell, though, what I think would happen is you will have to 'feel' the consequences of your decisions here on earth, to the last 'jot and tittle', after you die,
In other words, you would have to feel what the murder victim felt, and the feelings of anyone else who was connected to the victim
(Imagine if you were Hitler, he is probably not even done feeling every horrible thing he made other people feel, because people still suffer to this day over his actions)
That is punishment enough.
Now do good things, that way you will only feel good things during your 'life review'

Will you go to college if you get a bad grade on a test in 9th grade?
Just because people sin does not mean they cant be forgiven and realize the errors of their ways. All of our sins should be a little footpath of mistakes we learn from that lead us to repentence, a better life, and forgiveness from God. And the people treating salvation as a free pass to sin is rejected in Scripture and God is not fooled by them.

You go to hell if you haven't been born again by the Holy Spirit because of your faith in Christ Jesus. Can a born again person kill someone else? Most people wouldn't think so but if you ask them if a born again Christian could commit adultery they wouldn't be so sure. Forutnately God's mercy will prevail.
James 2:11 For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

According to Canon Law you will not go to hell if you square yourself with God before you die. Even if you murder someone. God does make the final judgement as to how quickly you get into heaven, but murdering someone does not mean you will go directly to hell.

ummmmm...... if you love God then why would you kill somebody?
If you are truly sorry and repent you can be forgiven. That's the beauty of God's love and mercy. You will still be responsible for your actions. You may spend the rest of your life in jail (but probably not...hell...you can kill 3 people and still not go to jail for life)

1Timothy 5:7 says "7Give the people these instructions, too, so that no one may be open to blame. 8If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
How much more can I provide than to protect them. If there were a burglar coming into my house, I am called to defend myself and my family. In that there is a possibility that I may kill that burglar.
If you murder someone in cold blood, of course you have sinned. But like every other sin, it is able to be forgiven. That may sound whacked out to you, but it is truth.

Think of this why would you kill someone if you knew God? Think before you act. And you have to ask God for forgiveness for every single sin you have commited.

Not necessarily.
1Co 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 Some of you used to do those things. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Some of you used to do those things…
