I'm thinking of doing a diploma in Indian Head Massage. I've no previous hairdressing experience or contacts. There are no adverts in our local paper for this type of massage.

Has anyone managed to set up a successful business purely doing Indian Head Massage? If so any tips would be appreciated.

The course costs £20 and 2 line adverts cost about £9 per insertion so I'd have to get quite a few clients to break even!

My wife and daughter work in a beauty salon, there are a number of therapists working there but there are on average only one Indian Head massage per day @ £16- £20 depending on the therapist. It is a very busy salon.

If you are thinking of making a successful business out Indian head massage, then don't you think that, 29 pound is nothing.
I think, for that small amount you should just simply do the course and try out and get a good experience out of it. Good luck !

Only seen Indian head massage offered with other alternative therapies but you could always start with that and do some more courses to give you more options

I have heard of it, and have a friend who does it, but she's also a haridresser, so she does it alongside that.

I'm not sure if you could make an entire business out of just the Indian head massage.

I think you are more ilkely to find massage therapists in Health suites as opposed to in hairdressers or advertised locally, you could try advertising in you local health suite/ gym to try and get a rented space for an hourly rate
