I will usually toss and turn all night when I have something important the next day. I need to make sure I can think clearly tomorrow morning....it may make or break my career if I get it.

I wish I could help you, but I always have the same problem and nothing ever seems to help.

Well...

Be aware of what you're eating before you go to bed - soup is fabulous, especially homemade (although it doesn't sound like you['ll have time to make your own). Try a high quality chicken soup with a little dollop of sour cream in it - the broth is very soothing to your stomach, and will help you digest whateve else you're eating. The sour cream does, too. Avoid the starchy carbs tonight - good protein, especially beef is good, and some lightly sauteed or steamed veggies with butter.

Getting outside for a walk is always good. Fresh air is always conducive to a very peaceful sleep. If you can't go out for a walk, try sitting outside on a patio or deck for a little while, perhaps right after supper. Just relax, have a drink of something soothing and enjoy the scenery - anywhere with a view is good - try to get somewhere that has as much greenery/water as possible.

Don't have a great big drink right before you go to bed - sip through the evening, and make sure you pee before you sleep.

A warm bath right after you've been outside is great - but not right before bed. Take a relaxing bath, get into your jammies, and spent a half hour or so doing something you find relaxing - reading a book, watching TV, whtever. Sitting there in your jammies is so stressless!!

If you find yourself sitting there stressing about the interview, give yourself 10 minutes to do it. Time yourself - go over every single thing that could go wrong, or that you're worried about - but when your 10 minutes is over, STOP. Tell yourself, no, I've owrried about this already - worrying about it more isn't going to do ANYTHING to help me.

Go to bed at your usual time - there's no pint in trying to get to bed three hours early, because you're just going to lie there and fret.

First, let some of your stress off - one position is not really likely to make or break your entire career.

Second, try and exercise - but not close to bed time. Even a stroll at lunch is better than nothing.

Third, put yourself into the right frame of mind before bed. Give yourself encouraging thoughts and remind yourself that even if you don't sleep well you would be a good fit for this position. Imagine yourself doing GREAT on the interview.

Take a few breaths in the morning and right before your interview. Take a few minutes to review your resume so you can readily highlight your best accomplishments. Prepare mentally for those "routine" questions - like, "Tell me about yourself" or "Why do you want to work here" and have GREAT answers ready.

Best of luck!!!
