I've been having this problem in the last couple of days- my computer restarts itself anytime I try to download something. Even if I want to run a scan it reboots itself. Is it infected by a virus or something else?

there is an possibility that this may be the doings of an epidemic. From very own journey, i might say that it is attainable because of the fact i've got had viruses that close specific classes seconds after beginning this device. there is likewise a possibility that your information superhighway browser has something incorrect with it. If a application has a significant issue, it is going to each so often restart the pc. in case you could boot your pc into secure mode, i comprehend there is an decision to no longer reboot the pc on a device blunders (or something very on the brink of this) attempt beginning your browser in this secure mode. If it crashes and has a considerable blunders, it is going to give up and coach you a blue reveal screen. If it seems it is the problem and you do get a blue reveal screen, i might propose attempting to reinstall your information superhighway browser or getting a clean one, in all probability on a cd from a chum, from yet another pc, etc.

Question. Are you using a wireless router and adapter. My PC had the same problem. I found out through investigating, that it was an issue with the driver for my wireless adapter. I went to several forums about the issue and found that Netgear driver was having compatibility issue with programing in SP2. Once I was finally able to access Netgear's site, I found the appropriate driver. Since then, I've had no problems. I'd recomend makink sure that all your drivers are Windows Hardware Compatibility Published
I wouldn't rule out a virus either. So do a virus and anti-spy scan as well.

Possibly.

Check for Viruses and Spyware.

Just in case it's a Blue Screen error,
Right click on My Computer and select properties.
Click Advanced tab.
Click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Under System Failure uncheck Automatically Restart.
Click OK.

This won't cure your problem, as instead of restarting you'll likely get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) instead, but the information displayed will allow you to trace your problem

sounds like it. try the website called housecall. if it reboots while it is scanning your computer, you might want to try reformatting your hard drive.
