Yes you can. If the water was that deep the problem could also get into the walls if they are sheet rock. That is why every one who works on the houses in New Orleans has to wear masks. The mold can cause all kinds of lung and skin problems.
They need to replace all the flooring and have the walls checked to make sure that the mold does not grow in them.

Same thing happened where I work. Yes, you can get sick you should try mentioning it to your superiors. They may let you go home - if there are any pregnant woman or anyone who suffers from asthma or respiratory systems they should be allowed to leave without question. Some places need to not only be vacummed by aired out and treated with industrial strength cleaners which attack and kill the mold.

Absolutely. You can get very sick. You need to pull up the carpet and replace it. Period. The mold will be very happy there for a long time...you've got to get rid of the damaged carpet.

Oh you betcha. Make sure whoever needs to know about this does and takes care of it right away.
If someone is allergic to mold it can be a dangerous thing for them.
Good luck!

Yes, but it should dry out before the mold actually forms. It will smell until it is dry.

The mold could be bad for you - fans to help keep the air moving might help, but just vacuuming isn't going to dry it out.

Most definitely. They need to pull it up, let the floor dry and replace the carpet.
