what is the best sippy cup? I am looking for something that will not leak when I toss it in the diaper bag

I like the Playtex insulated. They have the hard spout and the slicone valve that does not come loose. I have one of the little Gerber ones and it has a hard plastic valve and when I son shakes it or drops it the valve comes loose too easy. And I actually have the one the lady above requested and my son dropped his and the flippy lid comes off too easy and the straw is not leak-proof!

I have like 5 or 6 different brands of sippy cups, and I think the ones I like best are the Playtex brand.

Within the Playtex brand there are a few different ones, with minor differences like some are insulated to keep drinks cool. ALL the Playtex cups and lid assemblies are interchangeable, which I love - it's really convenient. They're easy to clean, with few pieces (cup, lid, valve) and the valve does NOT come out if the cup drops. Playtex also makes the straw-attached cups (the straw rotates down into the lid and is covered when not in use, and that keeps it clean and pretty spill-proof). Those are not quite as simple, as they have several parts to take out and clean (and which can get lost), and for some reason we're just not as fond of these, but they're good if you and/or baby like straw cups. All the Playtex cups are pretty inexpensive. Oh, another big plus in my book - they will fit into a standard cupholder, like in a carseat or stroller or wherever. I noticed Gerber and Nuby cups will not, because they have a broad base. My only complaint about the Playtex sippies is sometimes I wish they had a cover lid like bottles do, you know, to keep it clean during travel, but I don't see that in many sippy cups.

You might have to buy a few different kinds a try them out. We started out with the Gerber cups with soft rubber spouts, those worked until she figured out how to slam them down and knock the valves out. Then we tried a few off brands and it always seemed like their valves didn't work or didn't fit. I have pretty much tried to stay within the Gerber brand because the soft spout cups and the hard spout cups use the same valves, thereby simplifying my life. We have also found some nice Playtex cups that have straws. The straws have a cover over them to stop leaks, I have tried other brands of straw cups but most ooze milk or juice or whatever you have in them, I've had very little of that with the Playtex.

You're going to find that you have a personal preference, you might like something that I hated, just experiment (buy cups on sale!)

Do what you sense is ideal. i for my section think of she is nice with a sippy cup at that age because it helps preclude spills. provide her beverages out of your cup with something like milk or juice in it so she would be in a position to work out that it okay to drink from a conventional cup yet do no longer tension her to resign a sippy cup as those might properly be utilized by using toddlers for an prolonged time. it truly is advisable to purchase some that have not got handles in case you pick her to look extra grown up in an attempt to chat yet there's no might desire to get rid of the cup with a lid on it.

Nuby makes great sippy cups. They are only about a dollar a piece, and they don't leak. You want a sippy cup that doesn't resemble a bottle nipple, you want them to eventually learn to drink out of a big cup, and it will push their teeth forward.

We use the Avent cups. I have never had a leaking problem with them...sometimes if it gets flung it might release a drop or 2 of the milk that is stuck between the valve and the spout opening.

I agree with the Playtex with the straw it is the ONLY one I have found that doesn't leak and I have tried about 12 different cups.
