Positive if they're offering practical help, like tutoring or health care or something, along with the proselytizing. Irritating if all they're doing is getting in peoples' faces to tell them they're WRONG for thinking differently.
When I was sick a couple years ago, a couple of Mormon guys on their bicycles helped me bring my groceries in. I thought that was just the sweetest thing. I always like people whose beliefs inspire them to be *nice*.

Religious missionaries always leave a place worse off than they were before they get there.
Missionary work is a scam that siphons millions of dollars to finance the lifestyles of the Church elite and pays for their multimillion dollar Gulfstream jets.
There is nothing positive about proselytizing missionaries.

i think that it's nice to see that some people are trying to share their religion and something that makes them happy. There are so many things in life that 'get you down' that seeing missionaries out 'spreading the word'.

Even when missionaries talk to me from religions that have different doctrines than mine, I think it's wonderfully kind and brave of them to want to share something important to them with strangers. I try to keep that in mind and stay polite, I also think it's great how many are involved in humanitarian efforts.

Irritating. If I want to know more about a religion, I will seek out the information myself.
hate having to hold my dog back from the Jehovah's witnesses that come to my house. Wait...who says I need to hold my dog back?

Eastern Orthodox are not supposed to proselytize.
I admire the Mormons and their bicycles in Baltimore metro area. I can't stand the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Since they are doing a great service for humanity in helping to cloth and feed people and share the Gospel with people; I consider them to be very positive.
But for the people that hate God, Im sure it is irritating!
