Do you see yourself and God as one?

Why or why not?

If you do, then aren't you creating the world you live in?

Yes. I see the whole world as "God", and yes, we are creating the worlds we live in. Understanding all this is the beginning of real awareness.

Jesus taught the same message but the church has succeeded in perverting it and almost obliterating it with childish mythologies.

In spite of Christianity's emotional masochism and wild obsession with adoring Jesus as a divine object, Jesus the rabbi actually taught that everyone should be GODLIKE. Matthew 5:48: "Be ye therefore PERFECT, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

Yes, but only in the sense that God lives in me and I live though Him. I do not consider myself equal and I certainly don't think I have the power to reach His value. Yes, there is perfection, but it is the human perfection. When He said we can be perfect just like Him, He meant that we can reach our human potential.

Well, yes, I am creating the world I live in. We all are. But you have to remember one thing: we do not own the world. It has been given to us, but we don't own it.
This world that you're talking about is like a book with blank pages. We can write absolutley everything we want in it, but we can't do one thing: we can't change the material the book is made of, meaning that we can't bend the rules.

I mean this world has a scheme that you cannot change. But you can fill this scheme up with whatever you want, that's the way you can change it.

Jesus only said that in the New Testament which was re-written by the Romans to consolidate their power. The Bible is a false doctrine written by man. In truth Jesus was the "pure" prophet, the second man born without a father (Adam was the first). He was the only human to walk the true path of Allah during his whole life. Only God is God...there is no other and He doesn't need any extra parts as added by the Romans. Jesus will return during the golden age to teach the world how to walk the true path.

How come Christians consider themselves "children of God," when John 3:16 states that Jesus is the only son of God?

yes on a level i can't put into words. this also includes all other humans too. i feel like we make up his "body" on this plane of existence.
since humans can't define the word/state of being "perfected",( which is what in my opinion transformed Jesus from being a human to god in this human plane of existence ), is the reason why even though born a jew, i accept him as the lord.
i call him dad and the father(old test.), grandpa:-)
i'm still learning and the symbolism is just mindblowing not to mention the signs that naysayers would call coincidence.

It says that "My Father and I are one". It did not say that all who follow Jesus are also one. No one is or ever will be equal to God or His son Jesus. People take part in the sins of this world that creates its own distruction.

It didn't say man and God are one!

Man and woman were made in the image of God with individuality, the power and freedom to think and to do. Though created free beings, each is an indivisible unity of body, mind, and spirit, dependent upon God for life and breath and all else. When our first parents disobeyed God, they denied their dependence upon Him and fell from their high position under God. The image of God in them was marred and they became subject to death. Their descendants share this fallen nature and its consequences. They are born with weaknesses and tendencies to evil. But God in Christ reconciled the world to Himself and by His Spirit restores in penitent mortals the image of their Maker. Created for the glory of God, they are called to love Him and one another, and to care for their environment. (Gen. 1:26-28; 2:7; Ps. 8:4-8; Acts 17:24-28; Gen. 3; Ps. 51:5; Rom. 5:12-17; 2 Cor. 5:19, 20; Ps. 51:10; 1 John 4:7, 8, 11, 20; Gen. 2:15.)

It can only mean one in goal or objective, not one in person or character as most Christians would believe.

We,Muslims,do not see any problem in the statement. In fact, we have similar saying such as- if you obeyed the prophet then you are obedient to God because the objective is one.
