Is Adam held in high esteem in Christian circles? Do you guys like Adam or do you dislike him? Why is Adam blamed for all the suffering on Earth (you often say that before Adam ate the fruit there was no death or suffering). Why not blame God? For it was due to his over reaction that suffering and death came to Earth. God had the power to not introduce suffering and has the power to take it away. So why not blame god? Is there anger aimed at Adam from any Christians?

Jet...of course not. but thyat is not the point. I am asking about the myth/stories. Without Adam and original sin then the Jesus story (washing away sin) is meaningless

Well, actually it was Eve who sinned first.

Because of sin, we are witnesses of the reality of sin and what it does. That is why God had to die to redeem us and he will come again and save us and rid the universe of sin, sinners and the devil Satan forever.

Before there was sin, no one knew really what it was it was just a bad thing. But sooner or later it would arise and Lucifer initiated it and therefore in God's infinite wisdom sin is allowed to be played out so that the character of God will be seen and that all the warning before was warranted.

Sin will never again rare its ugly head because God will not allow it again and we wont either because we see what it causes.

Even God had to pay for sin by the death of His only son, which was no ordinary death - no man or woman on earth every had that death - he died for the world everybody who died already died for themself.

I can only speak for myself, but I regard the Old Testament to be the mythology of an ancient people and not to be followed as law or taken literally, but there historical reference.

It is only the four Gospels of Our Lord that are the sacred texts.

This idea is blasphemy to many "Christians" today who tend to spend too much time in the old scriptures....however in the history of Jesus' Church, particularly the "old" legitimate churches like Roman, Coptic and Orthodox, the four Gospels are the main focus of the religion, with the other books of the New and Old Testaments there for their select wisdom and prophesy.

Somewhere along the way, the European Protestants and their spawn became obsessed with the Old books and overlooked Christ "tearing down the old temple" and building a New Covenant with man.

I firmly believe that if more people focused on Jesus' words and message and the wisdom therein, more folks who call themselves Christian would act more like Christians.

Not from me, nor do I blame God. Nor do I say that God "over-reaction". cause it was mans disobediance that caused this.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

and for why? it is not known why except for a promise given in The Book of Revelation

Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

It just proves women can control men more often than men can control women. Now if Adam didn't eat the fruit of good and evil then all men would be perfect mortals they wouldn't sin or do anything reckless. You know such as being an Atheist, homosexual, murderer, rapist, molester, etc.

I feel no anger toward Adam. He was simply a man who gave into temptation as all of us can do. I don't hold him in high esteem or low esteem.

What an interesting question. You sure are a deep thinker, I never even thought of this before.

Not Christian - but I think all the sins are blamed on Eve with the "Original Sin" and all.

Don't know though. Not religous and don't want to be.

Everyone blames Eve. But God didn't overreact. He told them what the punishment would be, and he had to follow through. They had to leave Eden due to their own free-will.
