You very well might have to feed them in separate areas at first. REMEMBER THEY ARE DOGS!! They know that they are lower in hierarchy to you, but they will still need to work out the hierarchy amongst each other. You need to let this happen. They will need the feedback from each other. I am sure they will get into little squabbles and again you need to let them be...if there is no blood there is no problem. Once the social status is established things will calm down considerably. Many times dogs that are established will still remind the other of rank and positioning by stealing food, toys and bones. This is normal and necessary. They are animals with a highly social structure living with humans and their entirely different social structure.

It sounds like the male may have had to compete for his food at the last location. Feed them at the same time but separately. Once he sees that she is not going to take his food he should stop being aggressive with his food. When you have time to do this you might even try to hand feed both of them at the same time to let him know that what ever she gets he will get too. If they are young they will eventually learn to share. He just needs reassurance that the food is not going to go anywhere.

Pull his chain! Like in that Simpson show, Bart had to dominate the dogs action in real world. Fix the male dog, put male dog in seperate room or outdoor during feeding time.

Let them each have their own bowls, but if the boy still isn't letting the girl eat or drink: let the boy outside or take him away, when the girl needs to eat, therefore, she can eat alone and she can ACTUALLY eat.

Feed them in seperate places, therefore neither feels the need to protect the food. Feed them both at the same time.

P.S. Please spay & neuter!

serve their food in two locations...he can't be in 2 places at once...take him to the new location since she is already used to the first place
