You people need to respect other peoples believes. Shame on you.

People stereotype because it simplifies things for them. For the most part stereotypes are a good thing. Though of course saying all branch dividians are cult members would be one of the bad ones. There is nothing wrong with stereotyping, except in cases like that one where a group of people are all labelled with the attributes of a few. But the ability to stereotype, particularly objects, is actually a very useful adaptation.
Also, I think it's mainly the ones who really, really believe David Koresh was god and died for their sins who are labelled cult members. If you just followed along half-heartedly people probably wouldn't be so harsh.

I'll take a minute to rant here!
The crime of the branch dividians was a possible weapons violation!
That is the income for the branch dividians was to go to gun shows buy some beat up old none working guns take them to the ranch, fix them up go to the gun show and sell them for a profit!
They were at the point where they were handling 1,000 of guns at a time!
What should have happened was a local Monty go out to the ranch with a clip board, and get the situation handled.
but that God Damn Whore J. Renio, my she rot from the inside out!
Wanted to make a point that guns are bad!
Damn Her to hell may she be thrown into the lake of fire may I be permitted to help throw her in.
That B it ch should be dragged from ocean to the other and back behind an 18 wheeler God may I drive!

Any time you "deifie" something or someone other than God the only true Deity, you are a cultist. When they began to deifie David Koresh they became a cult. Actually that's really old school now. I don't pay much attention to that incident other than to feel badly for the people that, through his power trip and narcissistic behavior lost their lives, or family members.

I respect other people's beliefs (as I do yours and I hope as you do mine).
My problem was never with the Branch Davidians...It was with David Koresh and the fact that he was breaking gun laws, he tried to end the world early and the man burned himself and some of his followers (who I assume did not want death).
The followers are usually the innocent who deserve respect...it is the leaders and the hardcore fanatics who most likely do not deserve such.
Respect must never be doled out...it must be earned.

the reason why people stereotype is because no one knew what a branch dividion was until that incident. because of the media showing us what went on, the media influenced us to believe that stereotype. so once again, the BD's can blame the media!
