Yes, especially in small breed dogs, chocolate can have a deadly effect. I would recommend giving your dog vanilla ice cream, or just stick to treats made for canine friends....they do have canine ice cream.

certain, chocolate is unquestionably poisonous to a dogs. the more severe is what's termed bakers chocolate. it really is an unsweetened chew of chocolate used even as baking. i'm particular it has some binding aspects in it even with the undeniable fact that it has no sweetening further or most of the different aspects that make a sweet bar so good. hence the dogs is eating a extra targeted volume of the chocolate to eat the bakers chocolate. what number Hershey bars would it not take to poison a dogs to lack of existence? Why would we care? all of us understand that too a lot will kill them. the neatest element we can do heavily isn't feed them any chocolate. If a dogs receives carry of a sweet bar and this is the dimensions of a Labrador, do not panic. no matter if it really is a Chihuahua and eats an entire Hershey bar, take it to the Vet. you could eat arsenic and in no way die, even with the undeniable fact that it you nevertheless eat it over a lengthy era of time in small doses, it is going to finally kill you because it accumulates on your equipment. would I recomment you eat it? No...... in case you ate a small dose immediately, would you die? No... yet this is not any reason to maintain eating small doses.

Yeah, chocolate and ice cream are really bad for your dog. I know the chocolate can get the dogs heart beat up to a dangerous rate. There's this stuff in chocolate called Theobromine. And its like caffeine. When dogs get that in their systems, its really bad. They vomit and have diarrhea, which is bad for you and your chihuahua.

Yes Luna is correct. It is the caffeine in the chocolate that will effect your dog. Small amounts are acceptable but keep in mind the size of your dog. If seizures occur then first thought is the chocolate. Better none then some at all.

Pure chocolate is lethal for small dogs. Chocolate ice cream, not so much. Best to avoid all chocolate products completely for your dog's health and safety.

Chocolate is definately bad for dogs. They can't digest it because there is some sort of chemical in it. Stop feeding chocolate to your dog!!!
I've also heard that chocolate is the number one wrost thing that you can give your dog, onions are the second worst, and alcohol is the third worst.

Yes. There's a chemical (can't remember which one) in chocolate that dogs can't pass through their systems. It stays in there and can build up to toxic levels.
