I'm trying to consolidate my debt and was wondering if anyone had used them before and had any advise or comments.

yeah i used "take charge america" they were from out in the mid west? they hooked me up and then i fel into some bad luck{just my kind} and lost their partnership now i have to file bankrupcy on sept 5 not good but i was happy with take C. A. i tried a local consolidation in ny but since i fell from grace once it was hard to get back on a plan and they really sucked,they were as far as i was concered a ripp off call T C AMERICA its a 1 800 # dont have it cause im not home

You will find out that these credit counseling programs are going to charge you a monthly fee to handle this. What they do is contact your creditors and do a settlement to stop interest charges then they collect a monthly amount from you which they put into an account when there is enough money they pay off a bill, until all your bills are paid off. I suggest do a lot of reasearch prior to doing any of the programs. I was told to file bankruptcy so I did and I have to say my credit will be bad for about 2 years once I establish a good credit act again I will be fine. Bankruptcy isn't like it used to be and if you make less than 40,000 a year you will qualify.
