We met online about a week ago and went out to dinner last night for the first time. Let me first say I've been doing the whole online dating this for about a month and a half now. I've met a handful of women my age but they always had a major problem. Either no personality, had kids, or I just was not physically attracted to them. So I wasn't expecting much with this new one.

She was amazing. By far the most interesting, funny, good looking, healthy person I've ever met. By FAR. I wouldn't even be posting here except that we have a pretty big age difference.

I could see getting into a long term relationship with this girl. What are some things I should consider? Can a relationship like this work? What are the pros and cons? Any advice would be appreciated.

Please add your age to your answer so I can kind of get a perspective on it. Thanks.

Well lets get it straight for starters, this is no girl, she's a woman. And as a mature woman, myself I can tell you most of us have pretty much set our standards in regards to what we want from a man and what we are bringing to the table. If at your age you attract women that have established themselves in mind and body, (not to mention in the heart) count yourself lucky. Age is not just a number under certain circumstances but in this case it is just a little milestone that a mature person overlooks. I say follow your mind and heart and enjoy the pleasure of knowing a refined woman. If it goes any further than mutual respect and good laughs then Hip Hip Horah for ya. Dude go for it!

My boyfriend is 26 and im 35, I've been on here asking the same thing, Im quite sure he has too. Well 85 % it is great the other percentage is dealing with his hateful mom and brother who is the same age as he is. They absolutly do not approve of me, and do not invite me into any of there affairs, At first I thought I made a mistake, But we just keep reassurring each other of our love, and It does not matter what people have to say. I think that you'll be fine, and Hey that is not really a big age diffrence. Wow it's funny because he said that same things about the women his age that he had dated. Good Luck! P.S. we met on line too. I hope this isn't him, If so this would be so funny lol.

There is a time when we all reach a maturity level that I think at your age you should have reached. I don't think that the age thing should be a big deal. The only thing is, make sure you both want or expect the same things out of this relationship, don't just feel as though she is the one because she happens to look better than the other ladies you have went out with. Good luck

Crazier things have happened.
Affairs of the heart are not reigned by the tethers of age.

First of all take a step back.
It was a first date, reserve these life altering decisions until at least the fifth rendevous.

yeah sure it could work - I mean you're at a mature age yourself - it would be a different story if you were in your early 20s but you seem mature enough to me!
I say go for it - pros - shes more mature and wont be whinging over stuff younger girls your own age would.
Cons - you'll need to buy her extra moisturiser to keep those wrinkles away!
Best of luck though

At your age? Yes it could work. I say go for it, if you are really in love your age won't make a difference.

if you want it to work, then it will work. the age difference is nothing to be worried about. i know a guy whose wife is 16 years older than him and they are very happy. i know another young lady whose husband is 6 years youger than her and things are very good between them. so as long as you want it to happen, it will happen.
