Since God is the creator of ALL things and gives the tools, brains, heart, and determination to heal even as doctors...I'd go with GOD. You are a glass half empty kinda person aren't you. Quit blaming God...even the tsunami is more replicating of Satan than God and yes, God does too care! Hatred, destruction, murder, lies, war, drugs, porn, child molestation, etc...hey dude...that's not God we are talking about, but the enemy. Remember...Satan was loosed on earth and given dominion here. These natural disasters are his doing and God weeps over his children. There is also a certain matter of man's doing here also and free will.
Even so...relying on prayer alone when the Lord has provided the means of getting well through medicine and Doctors is ignoring His way of perhaps healing. Sure we always expect that everything that God does is in a Supernatural way...duh, not likely. People need to use wisdom and pray as well as seek medical help.

modern medicine is a sham, anyway. our society keeps ppl sick enough to pay into pharmaceuticals, but healthy enough to keep living, so that's dismissed already.
as for deciding between prayer and a good doctor... prayer would be a better bet than a doctor by my side if a tsunami hit. the doctor would be swept away and as helpless as me. just because large groups of people get killed doesn't mean God doesn't care. if I was blown up this second by some kind of explosion I wouldn't be shaking my fist in anger in my next life. i honestly don't think we are that entitled to perfect lives on earth. who said good life is guaranteed on earth? i had a good friend in the tsunami in thailand that christmas season, and you know what? she isn't a full believer in God, but when the waves hit she put her face on her hotel floor and prayed her heart out and made it back to north america within a week while the floors under her died. who knows why??

Both! The Scripture says "Physician, heal thyself". I believe God gave man knowledge of the workings of the body so that he could learn to truly take as good care of it as possible. Prayer is a necessary petition for God to hear you and help you in a time of sickness. He does care when tsunamis kill people, but these things aren't inspired by Him.

I'd cover all my bases, thank you. People praying for you does seem to help, but its the doctor and his medicine that does the heavy-lifting. It is always humanity that must do the bulk of the work. Jesus even said something to the effect that we all must try our hardest to get into Heaven, and that, if we do, God will carry us the rest of the way. I imagine it goes for other things too, but some things aren't meant to be...

It was God who gave man a mind and sense enough to go to the doctor (modern medicine). In his word he said that he would help those who helped themselves.
It was man who chose to sin against God in the beginning. Tsunamis along with all the other disasters are of man's doing. Are you living right? My point exactly!!!

As a Christian myself I basically had to respond to this....in the beginning God is the only that Gave the docs the intelligence to do their jobs, 2nd God can use even if technique he desires to do the therapeutic, and 0.33 of all, do no longer you think of that having been instructed in scriptures to tell others approximately Christ, that God might desire to apply something like an ailment to be waiting to witness to scientific human beings besides. i'm no longer attempting to be impolite right here, however the the Bible says in 2 Tim 2:15 discover ways to shew thyself authorized unto God, a workman that needeth no longer be ashamed, rightly dividing the be responsive to fact. I recommend which you pray to God for information, and then learn the Bible. I hate to assert it, yet your pastor is a procedures off base in this one, and that i assume which you will an Apostolic church. stability is a vital component of the Christian way of existence , and watching for God to consistently grant a miracle isn't the way it works. inspite of each little thing because of the fact the Bible says, "The Jews require an illustration, however the Greeks seek for after information. I doubt which you're of Jewish descent, so look on the information of the Bible and enable God do subject his way particularly of your way.

All healing was paid for by Jesus taking stripes at Calvary. Sometimes God answers prayers instantly, sometimes gradually, sometimes with doctors and modern medicine. God gave mankind the knowledge to make medicine. God cares when people suffer, but the devil has come to kill, steal and destroy.

Why would we choose to take God out of everyday life? I believe that God is the inspiration for all things.
Faith teaches us to know what we don't know. Accept the what we can not understand. That does not mean that we have no choices in life, or not explore in scientific terms what has been created by God. It means we must strive to do all we can for those who are less fortunate than we. We are the instruments of God. That, I believe, is the nature of Faith.

I believe God gives doctors the grace and ability to successfully help their patients. There is a reason for everything and everything has it's time. Only God knows the greater plan for all of us. If you have enough faith, you don't question why things happen. You trust in His plan.
