If you're not already, go to your local pharmacy and get a osteo vitamin. Also they make joint relieving ointments you can buy such as joint-ritis. If it really aches badly highly consider talking to your physchian for a prescribed pain reliever maybe not narcotic but something that will help.

If your doctor says pain relievers cannot be taken by you, then s/he should have suggested walking and swimming for good exercises. The pain will always be there to some extent, but there are things you can do, like keep busy, so it is not as bad. I'd suggest seeing a doctor though.

Take a chondroitin supplement, that seems to help a lot of people.

Chondroitin sulfate is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) composed of a chain of alternating sugars (N-acetyl-galactosamine and glucuronic acid). It is usually found attached to proteins as part of a proteoglycan. A chondroitin chain can have over 100 individual sugars, each of which can be sulfated in variable positions and quantities. Understanding the functions of such diversity in chondroitin sulfate and related glycosaminoglycans is a major goal of glycobiology. Chondroitin sulfate is a major structural component of cartilage and provides much of its resistance to compression. Along with glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate has become a widely used dietary supplement for treatment of osteoarthritis.

The best advice to you is to consult your doctor.....anything anyone might tell you could possibly harm you. I did some exercises that a family member thought might help and I ended up tearing a back muscle...and I didn't really do anything that was straining or hard...consult a doctor only they know the answers.

Seek some physical therapy. It does wonders! Also, hot tubs will feel great, and hopfully ease your pain some. The doc should be able to give you some kick *** pain pills. good luck, and best wishes!

Please go and see a medical specialist for examination, diagnosis and treatment.

Even if there are medical doctors online - your vital details like age, preconditions, current physical conditions, allergies, etc cannot be guessed at or ignored, should anyone seek to advise you on the appropriate medication or exercise.
