For the most part they will multiply.But you will have a few plants from each one that will decide they are "different".They will start little communities where they will try to pollinate with plants of the same type.Eventually,they will realize this doesn't work and they will move close to a plant of the opposite type.This is just to "keep up appearances" and to "carry on the line".Finally,when they get old and can't pollinate anymore,they go back to their old lifestyle.They find a nice plant of the same type to be "life partners" with and they retire to Key West.
