Yes, for sure losing significant weight will increase confidence. I used to be 50 lbs heavier and had zero confidence and felt unattractive. But now men always check me out and I'm dating again, which is amazing as I didn't have the confidence to do that before. I actually feel pretty now and I'm not irritable and depressed like I used to be. I NEVER liked to look in the mirror and now I'm happy with what I see.

yes I lost weight and did gain confidence, but it was only temporary. Losing weight to look better or make a goal is ok, but what happens when that becomes normal again like every day life? You can't rely on trying to look good to find happiness because you will never look as good as the models on tv or the next person who lost more weight than you. What you can feel confident about is being in control of your life and moving forward with what you want to do and accomplish

Over the last year, I have lost 20 lbs, just by walking a couple of miles a wk and cutting out sodas. I am not a real confident person, but I have noticed myself being a little more outgoing. I buy clothes that fit me, not loose and baggy to hide myself, so I seem to be getting more compliments about the way I look and that is also a boost. I don't like attention, but it is nice to know that people notice you when you are feeling good.

Hi Sweet Girl!

This happens all the time for several reasons. First, when you lose weight, you usually look better. Second, you are lighter on your feet, which means you feel better. Third, it is the goal of most Americans to lose weight, thus by doing so they realize goals, which adds their belief of being a can-do person and having self discipline. All this leads to tons of confidence.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

About a year and half ago...I got very sick from medication that was prescribed for me...it conteracted with an other medication...but I lost weight very drastically...like 17 pounds in 2 weeks time. I liked the way I looked and felt confidant. But I couldnt see what everyone else saw. They all thought I looked sick and too thin. But now...I've gained all of it back...and am depressed all the time. And when I try to talk to my husband about it..he says things like..."you look great now"...and.." I love your curves"......I was always heavy growing up and as a child.....then I lost weight and was fairly happy, but never really satisfied till I got so sick. Thats when I though I looked my best.......Nobody really understand when I talk to them how bad it was growing up, they didn't know that person. But the person I am now...the one they all like...is the one I hate the most....thanks for letting me have my say.....

I had lost alot of weight after having my daughter last year due to a thyroid malfunction and was so happy & boastful that it bit me in the butt 6 months later and I gained everything back. That's Karma for me. I should have known better.
