Well.. I am going thru that diet process right now. I started three weeks ago. I had gained not because of stress but because of snacking in between meals and such things.. You mentioned stress. THAT is one of the biggest contributors to weight gain as you know.
If you have money to join a gym, go there to run the tread mill or something like taht for 30 minutes a day (or more) and even 5 days a week. If not a gym, go for walks.. brisk walks(very impotant) start off with a mile a day and work up to 2 miles a day. And..water.. A MUST. drink 8 or more glasses of water a day. Also important.. get a GOOD multiple vitamin.. not the centrum silver or junk like that but a GOOD multiple vitamin and take a pill twice a day.
In the mornings, have a couple of eggs to start the day off and around 9 am, a grapefruit or some fruit with a couple of those LOW FAT crackers and at 11 am.. maybe another fruit and at 1 pm, have some green vegetables either the lettuce type with tomatoes, cucumbers,etc.. and if not that, I buy frozen mixed vegetables (NOT peas or potatoes) and have a cup or two of those (I put them in a skillet and heat them well WITH LITE Olive Oil)... the vegetable salad, I urge you to use Balsamic vinegar and olive oil as a dressing... during that same time period, about 3 ounces of good chicken breasts or fish.. Then in the afernoon,
another salad and chicken breasts or fish.. this time around 6 pm... then around 8 pm, ONE yogurt (I do not know why but a low fat or fat free yogurt is GOOD/GREAT for a diet) and some more fat free or low fat crackers(NOT the sodium crackers).
Instead of the crackers, you could pop up a bag of 94% fat free popcorn and eat on that during the day and get some of that spray "I can't believe it is not butter" type with zero calories on the popcorn.
My goal (which I have kept so far) is to lose 2 pounds a week and I have been doing just that. Anything more than 2 pounds is not good for the body.
I do not know how to say it but.. going on a diet is a new life style that everyone SHOULD... MUST develop... it is hard.. I have to learn NOT to eat french fries, lots of ice cream, going into Wendy's for a hamburger (loaded with calories, etc).. It is more of a challenge than anything else. Three different friends of mine have died due to over eating and wrong eating. I tried to urge them to change but they would not and all have serious blood problems.. heart problems, etc.

1) Do the cardio EVERY SINGLE DAY. 2) Switch up the "other" things, like abs and arms - give your muscles time to rest! Do different stretches and workouts on different days. The more variety, the better! 3) Don't focus so much on losing the weight as improving your overall health. If you're 220 and looking to lose 30, you're probably going to be adding a lot of muscle while you get rid of the fat - your weight won't go down very quickly, as muscle weighs MORE than fat. Feel the muscle that's building underneath the fat, as more and more fat disappears. Also, notice how your stamina increases. 4) If you smoke, this is a great time to stop (eek!). 5) Throughout the day, do little tummy-crunches in your chair. Get up every hour or so and just make a quick loop around wherever you are - anything to get you in motion. When you take phone calls, STAND UP for the duration of them. Any physical activity helps. 6) Head up! You'll be all fixed up soon enough.

make sure you don't drink lots of pop or juice, they contain a lot of sugar. Drink lots of water (6 cups a day) and 2-3 cups of milk a day. Try exercising 3-5 times a day, and doing some sit-ups, push ups and lifting weights every second day (muscle burns more calories). If you are snacking between your meals, that is ok, as long as your meals are small and your snacks are small. try eating each time on a small plate so you eat a smaller portion. Don't eat chips or chocolate as a snack, try popcorn or fruit like apples.

You could still have a snack after work or dinner, but make it light and healthy like carrots and water. Don't eat any oily foods and if your desperate, try a weight loss program or sign up for exercising in a local gym. Maybe even buy some gym equipment yourself. My mother has one. Also, take walks, buy a dog or something and take a walk with it lol. Take morning and noon walks. You could also take your husband for a walk or any children you may have. Good luck.

i went on a non-processed food diet....that means shopping the perimeter of the grocery store only - meats, veggies, fruits, dairies (i dont have any dairy also -- allergic -- but you should eat this sparingly). in the beginning this was difficult, but i have lost 10 lbs by doing this (in 2 months). mornings i have a protein shake, which fills me up till lunch (plus my 3 cups of coffee, but I use splenda and coffeemate so there is no extra calories) and for lunch (this should be your biggest meal) i usually eat sushi or a sandwich, something easy, plus lots of veggies and fruits all day long (i'm a snacker). i also bought a food dehydrator, so i make snacks this way and i make my own granola for a snack. also, dont eat after 7p at the latest.

Take you time, make better and healthier food choices and enjoy brisk exercise such as walking or jogging. It will wake about 2-3 weeks to safely take off that much weight. You can do it!

Hi Serenity!
This can be frustrating. What I suggest to my clients is that they reduce their calorie intake to 1500 calories per day and then stay active. If they do this, they lose about 2 pounds a week. So this is my advice to you.
I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.
Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

Well what i would do is eat healthy foods like fruit instead of
chips. And take a walk with a couple of friends or go for a bike ride. If you got a dog take it for a walk. Or take yoga it takes out all stress. And try to eat HEALTHY!

My husband lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks by eating cereal for breakfast instead of the fastfood he was getting on the way to work. When he leveled out he started walking our dog in the evenings and lost 2 pounds in one more week.
