Why is it that when you come to yahoo answers people think it's okay to IM and chat with you? If I wanted to chat I would go to a chat room. Does anyone else have this problem? If you have something to say to me, send an e-mail, but don't waste my time sending me endless IMs to talk to me about something I really don't care about!
Sorry, just wanted to vent for a minute about the 15 people in the past hour who have sent me IMs.

That's why I didn't set up an IM capabilities on here - I knew idiots would write to me and drive me nuts. The less access people have to you, the better. Give them an inch and they always take a mile.

You can edit your profile and hide your IM. If anybody wants to contact you their reply will go to your e-mail address and you can answer it at your leisure, or not at all depending on your mood.

true, true, this isnt a chat room, but if you give the option for people to IM you then expect to be IM lol i mean its really not a difficult explaination

well as a rule i dont chat but i dont have a problem with it if you do just take off your messenger and email

well to avoid IMs u can set your YM only for ppl in your list to im you only
