USA. I think it depends on who you are dealing with. I know of teenagers that are worried about the country. A lot of people don't like how things are going in this country. If they say they're against the war then they're unpatriotic. If they say they think the president is not intelligent then they're unpatriotic, but I think these people are just as patriotic as anybody else because they care enough to not want to see their country mired in muck.
Of course, there are people, not just teenagers, who don't care, but it's always been that way. Some people are just apathetic.
And it's not the ACLU's fault *rolls eyes*. One organization has no bearing on how much you love your country. I love my country so much that I'd like to see people from all religions enjoy their freedom. I like to see my government make the best choices for each person. I also love my faith enough to not want it to be bogged down with government.

In the USA there is a lack of patriotism, not only among teenagers, but the nation as a whole. This is caused by the overwhelming number of teachers and college professors who were draft dodgers or war protesters back in the Korean and Vietnam era. These leftists have continued their anti American ways and now pass it along to our youth, who are trusting to believe what their professors are saying to them as fact. A sad situation indeed.
Sanks,
I believe the German government under Hitler was very corrupt and German patriotism was at an all-time high during his reign of terror. The lack of patriotism does not come from a corrupt government, but rather a combination of unpatriotic influence. In the case of the USA it is mainly the leftist press and the leftist teachers and professors and their endless attacks on our government.

I am not patriotic, I am from Britain and feel no particular loyalty to it. I would say i am more loyal to my city, Sheffield, which i love. However I do not think there is anything at the moment which makes me particularly proud to be british - we are actually a nation of asses at the minute. I prefer to think of myself as a citizen of the world, and i think there would be a lot less trouble of everybody else did the same.

There definitely is a lack of patriotism in the younger generation of the US. I believe it is because of the removal of the Pledge of Allegiance and patriotic music. How many kids today know God Bless America or My Country 'Tis of Thee heck probably half don't know The Star Spangled Banner.. Why because they mention the word God. Thank the ACLU for that.

In the US, it seems the teenies with the strongest sense of patriotism have either a strong sense of family values or values they learned from their religion, or both. Many of them find it once they join the military if they didn't have it before. The ones that don't have been duped by teachers and professors and criminal elements for the most part

Ok. Not all teenagers are this way. I know there are a lot of teenagers who aren't patriotic but it's all a part of them growing up. I do think that they could be more patriotic...some are some aren't.
I believe that our real problem is morals and values.

The ACLU is a lot to blame . They have ruined alot of U.S. morals .Just look how bad it has become in schools or school functions .No prayer, No punishment =Shootings , Gangs ,Disrespect, Property destruction ,High teen pregnancy,
I make my kids respect the flag and Thank God , every morning at rise and shine they sing a patriotic song and say the pledge of alliegence.

I think it is because of the Politiians on both sides of being so selfish and self serving and not caring if they help the people, economy, etc. or not....They send our young people off to a war we should not be involved in and lie about each other to get in office....NO RESPECT so what do you expect from the younger generation when adults behave this way!!!

Maybe US teenagers do lack patriotism, but how could we expect them to feel any pride in their country? Their government leaders seem greedy, arrogant, and self serving. The president can't speak English, and we read, likes farting jokes and says things like "Yo Blair" as he spits crumbs on the diplomatic stage. Their country hasn't demonstrated interest by investing in health care for kids or in their primary and secondary education. Higher education scholarships funds are less available as college becomes more expensive, minimum wage hasn't been raised for years, entry level jobs that offer career advancement have been outsourced. Even things like Vista, Peace Corps, and peace keeping military opportunities are diminishing. To top it off, we are spending two billion dollars a week in Iraq of borrowed money that younger generations will have to deal with. Maybe the kids are just ahead of the curve.
