It's not having anything to do with specific kinds of grass. It's the quantity. Usually dogs eat grass so that they can vomit, if they have something that is bothering them in their system. I guess your Chow/Sheppard is a tough puppy. My dog once ate 99 thyroid pills and lived through it. He owns. He is also small.

When my dog eats some grass, it's because she's feeling sort of sick and is trying not to vomit.. but she usually does. When dogs eat grass they are trying to calm down their stomachs when they are not feeling good.

They get upset stomaches just like we do. Grass will either make them throw up whats upsetting them or help them poop it out. They seem to know which type of grass gets them the proper result they need. Don't worry about it too much. The dog knows what it needs to fell better.

Dogs eat grass when they don't feel good. It allows them to get what ever is in their body that is making them sick out

dogs are omnivours they eat plants and meat (like people)
grass isnt as digestable as some other plant matter so they eat it to make themself vomit if their tummy is upset (cats do this too) or to add fiber to their diet

I believe that dogs eat grass when they feel sick/need to be sick. It is nothing to do with fiber or the flavour!
